GTA6 will release in 2025

Hopefully I'm dead wrong. Looking at what RDR2 has achieved with that petty Jaguar CPU, R* is IMO the first (only?) developer who can put those 14 Zen2 threads into real use, with even more advanced AI and physics/interactions that will bring even more live into their virtual world. And hopefully proper/fun driving mechanics this time around, GTA4&5 fucking sucked in that aspect, and that's a game that's suppose to be all about driving/stealing cars first and foremost, it's in the damn title.

Lol at era slating crunch then crying because they stop crunch and the game will take longer 🤣🤣

I hope this is partly because they are working on that RD remaster as well as making the next gen GTA5 more than a res and frame boost!

I'm not sure I'd be that surprised if this sort of release was true, it was in the sales charts years after release and may well still pop back in from time to time. They also have a next gen versions of Red Dead 2 and GTAV coming before this and the online game is probably still popular.

If the game's still early in development then what have R*'s thousands of employees been doing since the release of RDR2 besides GTA Online?

Excuse me? Are you comparing CDPR to the creators of Elder Scrolls?
Kind of.
CDPR wasn't exactly known for broken games but shipped one of the most broken game in recent history. While Bethesda is actually known for their broken games.

But both promised the next gen open world game and both can fall flat.

RDR2 was more of a world, a shared memory, than a game. I don't even hold it in the same category as other games. It stands tall among everything else. With the scale and ambition this title will have, 2025 sounds right.

I mean, they will absolutely set the bar again. And by 2025 I'd be surprised if anything matched RDR2 in terms of scale and ambition.

Starfield says hi.

If so I'll have to summon a wildfire of animosity towards people who play GTA online.. Damn you for enjoying yourselves too much!

Lol. 12 years after V. With ONE game released in-between. GTA Online has done some damage (for those of us who like SP adventures).

Red dead 2 was a good game. But get out of here with this pretentious crap. It was still very much just an open world game.

Looking at what makes money in GTA5
you better not fucking think this game will have any decent single player campaign🤣🤣

This is the same time between Duke Nukem 3D and Forever right? Bodes well...

Does it really matter at this point?
After the fortune they made off of kids buying into GTA V online I kind of doubt the next GTA will still be a GTA as we know it.
I fully expect a game from the ground up designed to be a multiplayer sandbox with (at best) a tacked on single player campaign.

Financially, it doesn't really matter how many PS5s/XSXs are out, the game keeps selling. Maximizing profits really means getting it out the day that GTAV revenues drop significantly.

I just hope it launches day 1 on PC just in case I care about the online or any expansions. Launching late on this gen console only and requiring a next gen update would keep me off of the new content just like with GTAV, which I played on PS3 and haven't touched since 2013.

Keep paying for microtransaction for stupid online games fellas.

So you can make sure to get milked and get fewer games in the process and also screw everyone else.

Net negative for the fun level of the entire universe.

Hard to believe they would know if something will launch 4 years from now.
I don't need more speculation masked as news from a publication.

I remember there was only 4 years between GTA games. Ah the good old days!

GTA Online is the worst thing to ever happen to GTA. TakeTwo got really fucking greedy.
4 years? Didn't GTA3--> Vice City --> San Andreas release at a much higher pace?

Remember when back in the days many used to complain that sequels came out too fast. Now it's just the opposite.... lol... I can understand why it takes longer but it's really getting riddiculus. I'm just glad Capcom keeps their production line in check for RE. Almost every other series I like takes waaaaaayyyyy to long to get new entires... I'm not getting any younger and it's not like I have more time as I get older. And not only that... the older I get, the less exited I am. For many games it takes long to get new entries that by the time finally one is annouced I do not even care any more.

GTA V came out in 2013. I'd hardly call this one rushed if it came out tomorrow.
Rdr2 was in development for almost 9 years and gta as a modern city simulator is far more complex to realize, if there is a game that need ALL the time in this world, it's gta6, unless you want another cyberpunk situation, real ambitious games needs time.

The fact that they are taking their sweet time it means that they wanna do something big and special for this game.

I wish they would make smaller sillyer arcadey GTAs in the mean time. They could take risks and experiment, could even help GTA6 be a better game.

This.

The leaks are already saying it's going to have a more serious narrative. Dan Houser has fucked off. I hold little hope for the narrative of the next GTA.

I'm good with 2025, that's a normal release date because the narrative around games like Halo and Cyberpunk are tease tease tease delay delay delay.
