Is there a troubleshooting or beta issue place to go? Just out of curiosity
Oh agreed. I've played WoW since vanilla, and still play - although not nearly as much. I've watched as many of my friends have disappeared from the game. Some to Rift, some to other MMOs, some simply gave up on the genre in general.
I hope WoW's developers pay attention to the dynamic nature of GW2's "quest" system, its scaling dungeon system, etc. I'm not going to lie, I will buy MoP and will be in the beta soon. But I find myself playing mainly in hopes of seeing the "old gang" of friends come back. It's that social aspect that keeps me hooked. It sure ain't the gameplay - although to be fair, I love WoW's PVE.
People will leak, but it's not going to be to the extent where everyone and their mother is going to do it.
Yeah, I read the same thing. Optimization tends to be done towards the end of development so it's not surprising really. Have to get everything locked down before you work on optimizing.
I'm pretty sure there is a beta forum. I think that is where most of the leaks have come from.
There's a forum, but it's limited to just announcements.
~1 hour.

TB has failed:

"Well I have GW2 on my laptop but didnt bring recording gear. Goddamnit, at least I can play and learn"
AH, it would appear he's having issues with his VISA so he can't get into the US. Well, nevermind then.
1 hour until Beta Weekend start?
There should be the GAF Mumble or Vent info on the front page of this thread so people can get to know one another by voice. Or if someone could provide the info that would be great too.

Why doesn't he just fraps some stuff and voice over later? Humm.
Yeah, supposedly it starts at 12 noon PST.
Because fraps severely limited the FPS last time of other recorders - the footage on his channel is pure unadulterated like AVI footage. Top shelf stuff.
Well, when life gives you lemons...
Those I've messaged about the podcast, message me on Steam with the ID: Ashodin and I need to ask you some questions.
I'd be more than happy to help with communications with each other. I already have a mumble server if necessary.
If there isn't one already that would be cool.
Half hour...

Why am I excited and I'm not even in the damn beta. Dammit!

If you break the NDA and used the same email as your GW1 account, ANet will permaban your GW1 account. Assuming they find out who did it of course.

Wow. ANet pulling an EA. That's some garbage.
Could be scare tactics, though I wouldn't call their bluff.
They're super serial about this NDA. Strictest NDA I've seen since in a long time.
GW1 had the most serious NDA I've ever seen, like a REAL one, not the fake ones you see in gaming. You had to print off a real NDA, sign it, and fax it back along with a copy of your ID I believe.
NDA's are legal binding contracts, breaking one usually does have its consequences...
Regardless of contract, it is not ok for Anet to remove access to games that are not connected to the contract in question.
Unless that is stated in said contract.

Apparently they're not lifting this NDA. We'll never be allowed to talk about it.
I've seen on numerous websites that they're plastering emails all over screen to stop people from breaking the NDA.
That's hilarious.

Eh? Do you mean like watermarks on screenshots?
This hardcore NDA thing is not a good sign. We had tons of footage a few weeks back what's the big secret?
Although the few people I've seen who have spilled anything have said it's really good, so who knows.
It's annoying as hell and serves no purpose at all other than to make them have to police a silly NDA.

Protecting what's unfinished really, the game has been extremely well put together from the time they showed it nearly 2 years ago. People have literally played every single aspect of the game from what they've told us about. People have played zones from 1-50, they've played a dungeon and an explorable mode of that same dungeon, we've seen PvP and WvW, and on and on. Point is the game simply isn't finished and the NDA drops in April with the pre-purchase betas.
Oh snap. LOL.
We're looking to do a preliminary streaming thing at around 8:30 EST tonight, gonna set up the channel and everything, and talk about what has gone down lately (leaks, etc).
The podcast will just simply be GAFWars2.
I simply disagree with their philosophy of hiding their unfinished game under an NDA. I like Blizzard's philosophy of putting an unfinished and buggy game out there just because they are Blizzard and everyone knows it will be polished to a mirror shine by the time its done. The MoP beta is extremely unfinished and buggy, but it's generating a huge amount of hype within the community because anyone can stream it, write about it, make videos on it, whatever.
