How are the Epiphone Les Paul Customs and Epiphone's version of the Black Beauty?

They should be slightly better than Epihone LP Standards... you should at least be able to get a magongary body, and not alder like with Standards sometimes.

Finally chose my first new guitar in 10 years, won it last night on ebay. Closest I could find to my old RG750 in terms of specs.

Japanese made Ibanez RG3120, sweet Wizard Prestige neck, flame maple top, Dimarzio PAF and Tone Zone pups. Mmmmm, can't wait for this bad boy to get here. :D

My amber beauty arrived yesterday.

So, good tube amps in the 500-600 price range anyone? Figured I'd trade up the solid-state Frontman.

What kind of tone are you looking for? I think Vox AC15 would be great for alt. and classic rock and still sound pretty good in home volumes. And in band situtations, if you don't need a completely clean tone with high volume (with a heavy handed drummer most likely).

Fender Blues Junior would also be good in those situations, you can get an used one pretty cheaply. Or an used smaller Mesa... Studio .22+ for example.

All these 3 have two EL84's as power tubes, you don't have to be as careful with those as with larger tubes, they are cheap (JJ tubes) and you don't have to worry about biasing as much. Biased tubes would be better of course, but you don't have to worry about it if you don't want to.

This the one you're referring to?

I don't play in anything larger than a small club, so I don't need any of the 2x12s. This thing looks pert good for my needs.

Yeah, that's a Vox AC15 Custom Classic. It's made in China, but it sounds great. Vox AC30CC would have more tone options, but it's a bit too loud for home use IMO. It only has one channel, the footswitch is for tremolo and reverb.
