The Beatles - And Your Bird Can Sing
The Beatles - I Feel Fine (even though Lennon ripped it off from Bobbie Parker)
The Beatles - Things We Said Today
Pixies - Velouria
Velvet Undergound - Sister Ray

Many great ones have already been mentioned.

The Yardbirds have some quality guitar riffs but I've only been open to them recently and can't recall a few song titles.
And can somebody tell me where Beastie Boys unstoppable riff from 'Looking Down the Barrell of a Gun' is derived from? I'm sure the guitar chugging is more powerful in the context the Beastie Boys created but I'd still like to know.

A few more riffs that came to mind...

Rush - The Spirit of Radio (forgetting that intro is disgraceful on my part)

Led Zeppelin - Four Sticks, What Is And What Should Never Be (probably my favourite riff ever)

The Beatles - She came in through the bathroom window
Nirvana - All apologies
Bob Marley - Redemption Song
Hendrix - Voodoo Chile
Radiohead - Airbag, Paranoid Android's middle section

Stephen Malkmus - Water and a Seat, Witch Mountain Bridge, Church on White, Trojan Curfew, hell, almost anything by him has a memorable guitar part.. some of Pavement stuff, too.

And, well, the latest one to really get in my head :
Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out

Pretty much everthing I was gonna mention has been said...basically any riff by Jimmy Page in his Zeppelin days, one that hasn't been mentioned yet is:

"Ten Years Gone"

I love that tune off Physical Graffiti
