What's up with the patterns not tiling correctly on these pictures? Did they take the screens on Visual Boy Advance or what??

G Spot, eh?

Game looks great, though. I still wonder how much better it'd look on the DS at least, given the early shots of Bleach for DS we've seen so far, but still, that looks excellent for Game Boy Advance work, and hopefully it sounds and plays OK.

Looks great on the DS. Totally smooth, no jaggies.

I think he means if the game was designed for the DS hardware instead of GBA. Looking at what Treasure did with Bleach graphically makes it seem like even the new Castlevania is only using upgraded GBA sprites instead of being designed for the true capabilities of the system.

Does anybody else think the font that's used when they're talking looks really odd? Sadly I missed out on Gunstar Heroes, but I'll definetely pick this one up next month.

I like it when GBA devs use larger fonts for easier reading. Sure, the text looks proportionally larger (well, it is), but shit like that made some GBC and GBA (before lit screens) games more enjoyable. Dragon Warrior III on the GBC comes to mind.

Thanks, duderz. :)

Edit - Not that impressive. I suppose animation would be key, but the DS Guilty Gear game looks better, visually, IMHO. Bleach's style kinda reminds me of Gekido Advance. Kinda.

Lol no it doesn't. Seriously, the GG game isn't nearly as crisp and clear as the Bleach game. GG looks like it might have started off as a GBA game or something.

Bleach looks just as good as Last Blade 2 and Guilty Gear is using less color varations per character with smaller sprites so its obvious has less detail. Even the backgrounds are more crisp in the Bleach title. Your giving that chandelier background too much credit.

Yeah, Bleach has bigger sprites, but I prefer the design, color usage, and overall look in the GG game. Granted, at this point, it's really all in the animation, IMHO.

Well thats different if you put it like that. Technically speaking I give the nod to bleach but the art style of GG has always been wonderful. I haven't seen either game in motion so I can't comment otherwise.

"The visuals are, in a word, stunning. Treasure's development teams, arguably the most proficient folks to wield a sprite, coax amazing visuals out of the GBA hardware that surpass the work seen in Astro Boy."

sex on a cartridge.

ToastyFrog has never been a Treasure fan, and che thought the game was too much like Alien Soldier and didn't have the weapon blending from the original. That's why they didn't like GSH. There has been other positive impressions from other people, Fort90 has played it and seemed to really enjoy it. Honestly I'm still highly anticipating it... but then again I actually liked Advance Guardian Heroes.

Yeah, I played with it, and loved every second of it. Granted, I'm a diehard Gunstar Heroes/Treasure fan, but I was rather unimpressed by Advance Guardian Heroes.

Granted, it does not play just like the orginal game, but I can see the reasons some of the changes (the charaters in relation to the screen is different, so you can't have much jumping around), but overall, it just a fun, solid run and shoot.

Is that GREEN I see in one of those shots? O_O

Trust me, you're jaw will drop for that boss battle revisited.
