In a parallel Marvel universe (Earth-65), Gwendolyne Stacy was bitten by a radioactive spider and became Spider-Woman.

As you can see, the Peter Parker of Earth-65 became The Lizard and died fighting Spider-Woman. Gwen is now the New York Police Department's number one target, and her own father, Police Captain George Stacy, is leading the manhunt to bring her to justice.

She's also a drummer in Mary Jane Watson's band, The Mary Janes:

Soon afterwards, Gwen was recruited by Spider-UK and was one of the Spiders in the Spider-Verse event . After the conclusion of Spider-Verse, Gwen returned to her own world and continues to fight crime. This is where Spider-Gwen #1 begins. The first issue is out today!

Ever since I read Edge of Spider-Verse #2, Spider-Gwen instantly became a favorite of mine. The idea that Gwen Stacy became Spider-Woman in an alternate world was intriguing, and I love her costume! Looking forward to reading her series.

Surely that hood is a pretty terrible wind drag when attempting to sling from building to building at speed?

I'm just now catching up with Spider-Man stuff, so I'm avoiding spoilers but I have questions. Spider-Gwen looks and sounds awesome. When do I read it?

My current reading list:

  • Slott's Amazing Spider-Man up til issue 665 (already read)
  • Spider-Island (waiting to read this on the beach in a month)
  • Remender's Venom
  • Scarlet Spider
  • Amazing Spider Man to 700
  • Superior Spider-Man to ???
Where does Spider Verse & Spider Gwen come in? Am I missing anything cool?

I haven't read all of Spider-verse yet but she appears in Edge of Spider-verse #2. It's her origin, so that's kinda all you need to know. I'm jumping into Spider-Gwen #1 without reading all of Spider-verse. There's a link to the Spider-verse OT in my OP, if you want to check it out. It was released after Superior, so you have some reading to going by your list.

They can totally do it too, would play like a big screw you to the Amazing series though
They can show scenes from the first Amazing but have Emma Stone get bit instead

Sony keeps their Amazing series while MARVEL gets Spider-Gwen. You get Spider-Man & a female powered hero and Emma Frickin Stone in one fell swoop, this would also bolster the sales of the comic (like 3%) but it's too good to be true. Would be interesting if Stone agreed to return in a heroic multi-film contract capacity

Also if you're in the NC area on the 28th, there is a launch party for Spider-Gwen. Signing by both Latour and Rodriguez, and an after party featuring Married With Sea Monsters. At said party they'll also be selling this amazing vinyl (Art by Rodriguez)

Reading this later. She was pretty cool in Spiderverse. Then again, hanging out with Silk automatically makes you look smart and nice.

Because the premise of masked vigilantes dressed in tights was so smart to begin with. :p

I loved how dumb spiderverse was.

Ah crap another one. Over the years I've been trying to collect all the different Spidey 300 homage covers.(Also the Mcfarlane Spider-Man #1 cover) Don't really wanna drop the 40-50 dollars Ebay is asking on this though. Dammit.
