Anybody know anything about this shit called HAARP?

It's some high-tech military scientific research being done with Tesla coils. Supposedly the weapons capabilities can be pretty fucking amazing, up to and including starting earthquakes at the target of our choice, mild-brainwashing, tsunamis at our targets, etc. There are allegations that it makes it so we can almost create our chosen weather disaster of choice whenever and wherever we want.

So yeah, does anybody know much about this? I wanna read this book, "Angels don't play this HAARP", that goes into details about it all.

from a disputed article on wikipedia: "Project HAARP (High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program) is a US Air Force, Navy and University of Alaska funded investigation to "understand, simulate and control ionospheric processes that might alter the performance of communication and surveillance systems" started in 1993 for a proposed twenty year series of experiments."

any info from you all on it? or just plain discussion?

Yeah, that tech has been around for at least a long time. I remember reading about it way back when I first got a PC, but ended up dismissing it as conspiratorial hogwash, since most of the sites that spoke about it were on the lunatic fringe. The articles I read basically centered around weather control.

Damn. I thought it'd be about entertainment.

"...for at least a long time."

Nice sentence there, Loki. :D That's what I get for going back and changing my "at least ten years" comment to "a long time" (without erasing the "for at least") after I saw that whytemyke's original post had mentioned that it's been around since at least 1993. Sucks to be me. :p

I toured it during an open house 2 years ago. the main things they were talking about doing with it were intterupting communications sattelites and creating ariglow(mini auroras). Pretty interesting stuff. I have some pictures of it somewhere on my HD. Oh yeah and the guy who wrote Angels Don't Play this Harp is a fucking nutjob.

Nikola Tesla claimed to have built a weapon that used the earth's resonance to send electrical current anywhere and basically destroy everything around the target. When he died the FBI raided his lab and it burned down a few days later.

Who knows.
