Hades 2 | Review Thread

I dont like roguelikes, should I still play it? Guide me papitos
I'd say give it a shot. If it's not for you, then you know to never be tempted by a roguelike again.

I did this with Hades. And while I recognize it's incredibly well made and all made sense, I just don't like roguelikes. So, I hope the hades 2 crowd loves it. I'll cheer them on from a far

Not when Expedition 33 exists.
You guys have got to stop this mentality of that game being above a challenge. It's not. It's a great game, but not entitled to an automatic victory. I'll likely win, but give some other games a chance. That way, if something else does win, you guys won't fall into some weird depression if that happens.

Also, there's no reason games like H2 or Silk Song can't win simply because they're indie.

I really like this game but the hyperbolic surrounding it is fucking crazy.

I don't think it is hyperbolic to suggest that E33 is the frontrunner in the GOTY race by a pretty good margin.

I beat E33. Yeah, Hades II most definitely id as good, if not better than E33.

Hades II came out after E33, and is still reviewing higher.

Barely. 93 vs 94. Not that it really makes a difference when it comes to GOTY.

Well E33 is a new IP and is a fresh take on RPG's while Silksong and Hades 2 (while both good) are still more of the same. E33 wins easily. The former two may be too hard for the casual crowd and many voters for GOTY

No OT? Damn. SonyGAF is right

This year? No, unless remasters count
Only a few of us bother to make OTs.

The issue isn't "sonygaf" it's that most of you are too lazy to make a OT for a game you even like lol.

6 hours in and yep it's def Hades alright with some improvements in most aspects except for the weapons? Dunno, not feeling them so far and I have unlocked 4 or 5 of them.

There's that entitled sentiment again, but as with the game, it comes with flaws. "but Mon ami! We are French and so hip and contemporary and stylish!" is nothing new, and in fact as old as entertainment. The QTE events aren't new, the turn-based dodges/parries aren't new. The game play loop gets old and repetitive, the characters and story are cliche, bordering on idiotic not magical or mystical.

Not a shoe-in by any means.

hmm, for better or worse this is more of the same so far. I have racked up something like a million hours in the first game and to he honest I think I'm just over the gameplay loop. I can't see myself putting another load of hours into this one tbh.

I was kinda hoping they would shake things up and make it different but it seems that isnt the case.
