from tool's site:
I just want you to know about... the DVD... It's slated to be released on... (mechanical voice with batteries running low)... Frrrrrrrrrrrrr...

So, at least it's not cancelled. I mean, they wouldn't bring it back up if it was dead. So it at least is STILL coming, sometime. Maybe.

what a crock of shit man. howcome bullshit bands like linkin park have a gajillion dvd's that all suck balls but a legendary band like tool can't get funding for it?

When this dvd comes out I hope it isnt just acollection of music vids like the APC dvd. Althoug the Tool vids are much much better and yes I would still buy it.

I would love a concert dvd or something.

Speaking of Tool, I'm actaully burning the reorganized version of Lateralus right now, the one that's so called "The Holy Gift". I can't wait to hear how all the songs lead into one another perfectly as apperntly they do. If you haven't heard of this, you can read up on it here.. "The Holy Gift"

the dvd is a complete live concert. all live footage.

that holy gift thing is a sham. doesn't work. some tracks work well, the rest sounds like crap. sorry you wasted your time on it like i did.

When the DVD is released, I demand that it has the video for Parabola and the live performance of T&L. Thanks for posting that though Em, I don't visit the site often enough.

ack I don't like their videos, but I'd love to see some live performances. Even though they're kinda boring, they sound great.

you can find a live performance of T&L on a lot of file sharing programs, if you didn't know.
Actually, if you use WinMX you can download entire concerts.
I have roughly 4 gigs of live tool videos on my computer. there are actually two entire concerts from NYC out there, and the quality is quite good.

if you can find these, download them:
Tool - Live - Concert Pt. 2 (Radio City 8-13-02).mpg
Tool -Live from New York-.mpg
Tool - [Live] - The Patient.mpg (best filmed bootleg of Tool I've ever seen. Wish I could find the whole concert =/)

and actually, since those are under a gig....i could upload 'em while i go to work tonight and post 'em when i get back, if you guys are interested....

Oh, I know it's out there ... I just want it in fancy DVD quality, heh. But yeah, feel free to upload whatever you have. My collection was wiped out in the great crash of '04 and I haven't bothered to build it back up again. Had some stuff backed up to CD, but not enough. Saved the Parabola video and like, one concert.

Might I ask why not?

I was just entering the form and I see "haha, Tool DVD not..."

I nearly had a fucking heart attack! Thank god it's still coming. And yeah, it's a given that there's going to be live footage (they mentioned they taped the last 3 or 4 shows). Usually the last date they play Ticks and Leeches so I assume it'll be on the disc. I also hope they include videos for "Schism" and "Parabola" since those aren't on Salival.

I remember Carey saying that the DVD isn't going to be your typical "live footage" so who knows what he means?

EDIT:

They're ugly man. I don't like those disgusting little shit creatures.
I love stop-motion animation and I love all of Tool's videos. I would rank them as...

Prison Sex > Parabol/Parabola > Aenema > Sober > Stinkfist > Schism > Hush
