some people are gonna recommend expensive ass stuff and rag on american crew but grooming cream is my go to. I've tried a lot of different hair stuff and always come back to american crew, grooming cream is the shit.

I'm scared of using hair wax, putty and ilk because it supposedly clogs up the hair folicules and causes hair loss, i rather not risk it.

Just ordered the grey and green air rise. So many to choose from. Didn't know what to start with without throwing away a bunch of money so I went with the safest bets.

I tried both the red one and green one, and I have to say the red one will suit your style better. Never tried the grey one.

You should also look into Paul Mitchell Shaping Cream.

Salt spray or texturising powder.

Doesn't look like you have anything in your hair and doesn't go greasy, good hold and gives volume.

I tried this Layrite Cement stuff because of GAF recommendations and I like it a lot. You absolutely have to get it nice and warmed up before you put it in your hair, though.

Ok So I tried the Fatboy putty today, and it was ok. Didn't do anything at all with my dry hair, but after I sprayed a bit of water it worked much better but left a shine. Pretty thick and really hard to wash out. Had to use a lot as it just wasn't doing anything. Gonna try it out a few more times and see If I can master it.

Now the Gatsby Green was a different story. I love this stuff! Really creamy and easy to apply. It actually added a lot of texture to my hair. Also surprisingly had a really good hold! It gave a little bit of shine which isn't too bad. Smells so damn good too. This stuff is legit and cost half the price of fatboy putty. Now I'm just waiting for the grey matte to come in so I can try. I have a feeling that's gonna be the one for me, if not then I'm sticking with the green.

Sorry for the bump but wanted to write a brief update.

First, the seller fucked up my order and sent me the grey one which is full hold and no shine which made it hard to apply for my type of hair. That been said I decided to keep it and gave it a try, really liked how wax works so immediately ordered with another seller the correct one.

Life is good, Gatsby(Purple) customer until I die or join the ranks of bald GAF.
