Was there any extra background or motivation of the G-man given? in any support materials or interviews with Laidlaw?
I have been looking but perhaps im not hardcore enough....

I'm not really aware of anything beyond what you see in-game during Half-Life and Half-Life 2.

Thats kind of what I thought, I was curious if Valve decided to extrapolate on him more.

HL1 and 2s plot has always been speculative on purpose. Valve prefers the players theory and ideas of to what actually happens in these titles. I personnaly don't mind it at all really
