Halo 2 Playlists Updated....Cyclotron?

Also i see 2 swords rounds in rumble pit, am i right in thinking those are new? Let the bitching beign if true.
 
Well they were supposed to do a overhaul of the playlists, so this is what we get. But yeah.....swords....bad....
 
I remember Cyclotron is the old name for Ivory Tower, according to some old screenshots and updates. I think it is teh typo.
 
Thats odd because Ivory Tower is on the same playlist....sure its a typo then. They would've made a big deal about a new map.

Yeah they just fixed it.... :(
 
I haven't been online yet but it looks like they are making some pleasing changes. It's cool that they listened to so much feedback.

Nooo

It was so easy to kill Banshee users on head to head. All they had to do was fly in range and 1 plasma grenade did the trick. :P

Although I can see why they took it out...I've only seen 1 person use it to go on the highest point of the map though.
 
I been playing today on 3 hours. Doesnt seem like a lot of changes in big team battle (unless they just updated at 1-2pm eastern). But then I started playing Rumble Pit and WOW THE GAME is so much better.

The matches are longer. No more of that 6 minute garbage where the game is over just when it was getting good.

I actually played foundation in rumble pit. The length increase of the games is a huge plus. Halo 2 online is becoming so much better. I had more fun today on Rumble Pit than I ever have before.
 
They should have just fixed the Banshee's ability to exploit the map, instead of removing it.

Any word on if the sword exploit is fixed? You know, the one that allows you to LITERALLY FLY THROUGH THE AIR

The problem was someone would take the lead and then fly low around the map and also behind the tower. Making rocket and plasma sticks more or less impossible.

Unlikely. The update seems to be entirely on their end this time (ie, it doesn't involve getting booted to the update screen and downloading anything, the new playlists just appear when you connect).

No its not fixed. And yes the 25 frag limit is there.
 
Can someone tell me if they have an unranked Slayer area now? I can only play on a friend's Xbox (with him), and since there's two in our party we are limited to ranked team games =\

I wish they would quit calling it "Training". That seems like it discourages decent players from joining in.

Did they keep the "Training Ground" option, or has it simply been split up into Team Training and Rumble Training? If Training Ground is still there, I think they might be splitting up the number of possible users a bit too much.
 
Training Ground was renamed as Team Training, so there's only two unranked lists (one teamplay, one ffa)

That's kind of what it is. Bungie has maintained all along that the ranked games/level isn't something you forever increase to show how good you are. It's supposed to be entirely a tool to find people of similar skill to you. In the long run, everyone will settle at the level they are most comfortable, and the game will match similar level players to them for best effect. The training ground/team training/etc is largely in there for new people or people with new guests.
 
I don't think Bungie should let us see our ranks. Sure show us the amount of games we've won or whatever. But I find myself playing JUST to increase my rank. No more, I'm just going to fuck around and have fun.

You are absolutly correct here. I stopped trying to up my ranking a while ago. I'm fine sticking with a 7 or 8. I'll slowly climb up when I'm ready.

I though that's what rumble pit was. I actually miss how much single flag CTF on Zanzibar was taken out of rotation. :( And if you do team training, it's now half slayer matches. :(

They need to take out the timer in Head to Head and il return to that mode.

also, they need to fix the Rocket launcher/Sword glitch. Granted its not easy to do, but If someone masters it, then it would be cheap as fuck.


they also need to fix the floating glitches in beaver creek.
