Ok, thanks. It's annoying when people are reacting to some 'ghost', it's not benefitial for the thread.
 
I was playing some assault games today in H2 and noticed something was missing. There needs to be an 'armed rate' bar or icon in the hud display during the game.

So say if the opposing team has half armed the bomb then the defensive team would take note and act more responsive. Or it could just appear on the attacking teams display.

Just wanted to know because even though it's funny sometimes how over the top you go with your trolling, I got the idea that you must really have nothing to do to keep doing it on purpose in practically every MS/Halo thread I see - don't you have some PC games to drool about from your circa-2003 computer, Mr. Hardcore PC Lover? :)

If I came off as defensive, you got me wrong there as well - I know better than to take anything negative on the net seriously, I just found the pic unfunny because it was trying to say that no matter how it looks, if it's Halo, it's automatically amazing - it doesn't matter anyways seeing as you just said that you purposely tried to get a rise out of people when I thought that it was your tag in play and that was what you honestly thought - so nevermind...

And this thread started out so good too...

P.S.: F-Pina's "solid comments" are really something else - I can't even find them!
 
I understand people dont like the game, but I'm surprised so many cant help but broadcast their hate for it at every given opportunity and as loud as possible.

Anyway, I like the look of the new Zanzibar map. But I'm hoping for more of its equivalent; new H3 maps that are built around some newer gametypes. I cant wait for the new shotgun too! Nothing better than dishing out some close quarters justice. :)

ps: i dont think it looks that good anyway, but i never played halo for graphics...i play for the sick campaign :)
 
So, what should we comment on in this topic? It looks just as fun as HALO 2 multiplayer. Graphics aren't impressiveat all, but it's still in BETA, and it's still just a low-res vid.

Gameplay looks solid.

It reminds me alot about UT2004 graphically in that low quality video. I am sure it will look ace when they release it.
 
The Spartan laser looks like a more powerful and accurate plasma pistol. Pity you only get a couple of full-charged shots with it.

I would have liked to see the energy sword in the video.
 
I'm kinda disappointed in the page numbers actually. It's the first time we really get to see Halo 3 gameplay (an up to date build as well) and so far the thread is not 'omgbbqsauce'.

Oh no doubt, I've gotten used to this ages ago after being on the 'net for so long, and I accept it especially since I comment on other previews of games myself - it was mainly the blind faith-thing and "looks exactly like Halo 2" I was commenting about... it doesn't matter to me what anyone says as everyone is entitled to their opinion, but those two statements, even at this Beta stage and in that low quality, are undeniably worng...

Uh, those two comments look to be in response to someone saying that it looks exactly like Halo 2, and nothing like you suggested in your post - you're gonna have to scan a little longer for some better examples...

Well, to me (the gameplay mind you), looks like Halo 2's with some new weapons and a shield grenade. Terribly sorry, but that does not impress me.



/edit: It probably will entertain me, like it's predecessors. But with minor updates like this, and 'not fixing stuff that's not broken', it's not going to earn any GOTY awards in my book.

Yeah I feel the same. I hope the singleplayer will be better looking and a bit different.

They've already announced more than just the shield grenade and some new weapons. You got the man cannon, those shield walls, spike grenades, more vehicles (besides just the mongoose, there's also this transport warthog?), probably some new modes, lots of cool features (like the replay feature) and some other stuff Bungie will announce. I'm not really worried, it already looks quite fresh and different yet Halo to me. We know they're not going to reveal everything they've got in the beta.

Did you expect Bungie to overhaul the gameplay? I mean, dude, why in the hell would they do that?

Looks like they have fixed the major gripe and attempted to take dual wielding out of the forefront of the gameplay. They've also added new vehicles, a spate of new weapons, increased grenade types, and introduced deployables.
 
as far as I know the SMG is still in there for dual-wielding purposes

I think Bungie are probably tweaking which maps have SMG/AR/BR starts, but hopefully the AR is fairly standard
 
I saw a low quality version and I like how zanzibar has a few new routes and rooms to it now, great as the halo 2 version was it felt like it was designed for 4 on 4 only and not balanced for 8 on 8's.

Runs nice and smooth though and it looks to be a blast online so I'm happy :D

well the environment is obviously going to get polished, as in more assets being put in.

and master chief looking bad, yeh i agree, because like the environment i'm guessing his character is still being worked on; likely a placeholder for now.

Why should it be? The video shows virtually nothing. You get to see someone run around an empty environment for a minute. Whoopty do. Plus, the visuals look like a cross between Halo 2 and UT2003.

It's just not an interesting video.

It's interesting to fans of Halo. It shows an updated and fun looking version of Zanzibar, a new type of deployable, the Spartan Laser being fired, the new version of the Bubble Shield, the respawn visor grid, updated graphics including grass, more footage of the Mongoose, and various other tidbits.

I'm a HUGE Halo fan, though.

Is there are longer version of this video available? What I viewed was only 1:30.

Still, we've known about most of this stuff and the fact that it exists is not surprising nor exciting. I will become excited once I've played it and get a feel for how they have been integrated into Halo.

Ha ha. At least you understand. My parents are Polish, but I really couldn't be bothered with it. My dad's brother calls from Poland every Sunday morning, when my parents are never home, and I'm in bed, so I let the machine take it.

And I swear to god, as soon as the machine picks up and starts it "we're sorry, we're not home..."

He starts talking to it, thinking its my dad. Then it beeps, and all you hear is, "Antek? Allo? Allo? Allo?...... Antek?"

See, there are quite a few members on these boards that are very emotionally attached to a specific console. When they see something good for any other console, that is not the one that won their hearts, they have to prove to themselves time after time, that their decision was the right one.

As you can see, there are many posters in this thread that have no interest in Halo at all, yet, for some strange reason, here they are.

I can say the game doesn't look balls to the wall amazing either, but I'm still optimistic.
