Would they dare allow it to wait for the movie release despite the PS3's release? Or will there be another Halo game released? It looks like Fox / Universal might have made some provisions for it in the contract.

Future vidgame iterations of "Halo," which has already generated more than $600 million in sales for its first two versions, are almost certain. If possible, Microsoft and U will synchronize a game and movie release to take advantage of cross-marketing.

Actually, I've alwasy felt that releasing it against the PS3 wouldn't do much good. The PS3 will sell out regardless. The true final battleground for this gen is holiday 2007.

That's what people said when I posted the Xbox360 multiple sku, HDD seperate threads. It's a legitimate news item and it will be picked up by the various sites. If you want to bury your head till then, feel fine.

It's probably nothing or just strange wording by Fox/Universal.

I doubt the movie will cross over with the game directly, they might add a couple of characters to the game who turn up in the film (Im guessing the film will be based either before the events of the two games, or around the events of Halo:CE).

As for Halo 3s release date, If MS arent rushing them for fall 2006, they wont rush them for Spring 2007 either, I imagine both parties would be happier launching Fall 2007 coinciding with a DVD release.

I don't like Xbox too much, but even I can see that a Halo movie with a game is want the people really want. That combo will sell like gangbustas. The question is why not do it? Isn't Bungie controlling the direction of the movie too?

Bungie Ok'd the script, and they have people acting as advisors to the movie, but according to the PR they dont have any creative control any more.

I could really care less about this movie. If it turns out good that will be great, but otherwise it's pretty much under my radar. What I really want to happen is for Halo 3 to be shown at X05.

IIRC, the guy who does the voice of MC said that he thinks the game will be out before the movie...

also, off-topic, he says that he has yet to be contacted about playing a role in the movie. hes hopefull (obviously, $) that they'll ask him to do the voice.

MS really should have delayed Halo 2 to be a 360 launch title and brought out Perfect Dark Zero on the Xbox last year instead. Not having a new Halo on the 360 until 2007 (which is a good 2 price drops away) just doesn't seem like smart business.
