As for the screen, it is being widely decried as not only a fake, but also a very old fake. (One poster on the GameSpot Forums is even claiming he made it himself.) Armed with this info, GameSpot contacted sources familiar with Halo 3's development, who freely admitted the game will be a "no-show" at X05. Jeez, are we going to have to wait until E3 2006?

I still don't see the big deal about the smg's. If anything it's more accurate than the assault rifle in H:CE. Plus you're supposed to be using those grenades in conjunction with it people.

Maybe you feel that's more accurate because the high auto-aim of H2 but the cone of the AR was less-wide and shooting with the AR just feeled right, I know that isn't supposed to be a standalone weapon but still, one of the goal of a FPS is to make a gun fun to shoot, I think cerrius nailed it when he said that the smg was like shooting beans instead of bullets

That idea would've held weight if I didn't spend a lot of time playing the hell out of H1 on single, co-op or multiplayer.

There were quite a few times where I'd drop someone's shield only to rain another half a clip from the AR at them (all mid-body height/accuracy) from mid+ distance and they still not die. Compared to the BR, that's terrible. But at least now you could dual wield or play smart and use grenades.

It has nothing to do with the auto-aim/assist. The cone coupled with how weak the bullets were is what made it bad. It got to the point where it my most least used weapon in the game since it never excelled at anything and there were far more usefull weapons in whatever situation you might find yourself in.

But, yeah I'm not gonna get into this again... pic's still fake blah blah blah.
