Halo 3 wish list

So what do you want from Bungie in the third installment.

I would like to see more control of master chief and better interaction with the enemies and environments. Halo is recognized for bringing outstanding AI and great direction to the fps genre. But I think its real achievement is creating a memorable character in a FPS which is a big feat for looking at the end of a gun 96% of the time. That is why while I still want the next level of graphics, AI, and story with H3, I want them to focus on expanding the feel of controlling the Master Chief. I should be able to punt those little grunts in a bulkhead. I want to be able to rush into an elite and have the chance to knock the weapon out of his hand. I don't want to turn halo into a fighting game but I do want to expand his melee attacks beyond a simple rifle butt.

I also think that you should feel like your using an armored suit that enhances your speed and strength by making the environment more interactive. The need to create a feeling of weight when you jump and land. When I get knocked on my ass have me looking at the floor for a second while I get up and get my bearings. Above all

Just give me more Chief! I gotta have more Chief baby!

More aggressive AI, better squad based gameplay (it sucked in the first two), maybe a massive battle scene or two...

I want...

- A storyline that focuses more on the fight between the Covenant and Earth, rather than a fight within the Covenant
- Co-Op Via XBL
- Level/Game design on par with that of Halo: CE. Most of H2's levels just felt like dual-wield fests

I'm sure some people would like to see bots as well, but I have Live, so I don't really need to worry about that.

- More "Wort Wort Wort." I can count with one hand the number of times I heard such spurt from the Elites, from playing Halo 2. :p

- More open areas.

- Spectator mode with Photo Mode would rock.

- Longer single player campaign. Halo 2 was ok, length wise, but 3-4 more hours would've rocked.

However the thing I want the most is: ONLINE CO-OP!

More open fields ala Halo 1. And keep the alien dude out of it(he looks like a combination of a maggot and a hawk).

- bring back flashlight battery and jump damage for single player
- be able to use a jackal shield with left trigger (when you don't have a second gun or two handed weapon)
- have the alternate rate of fire for the battle rifle like in the E3 2003 video (or at least have it hold more ammo)
- bring back the burning kickback on the plasma pistol for multiplayer
- some type of water vehicle
- get rid of the drones, have engineers drop supplies for enemies instead
- bring back night vision scope for the sniper rifle

what bothered me most in Halo 2 was the stuff that made sense in the first game but was dropped for whatever reason.

How about they add some lights? Bungie uses way too many dark rooms and environments. Halo 2 was 90% black and dark purple. After a while it started to really get old.

Seriously.

-no arbiter-

-more post modern apocalyptic earth levels-

-more melee-third person action like when you jack vehicles-

-50 player multiplayer-

-fully destructible environments-

-cortana naked unlockable-

Deformable terrain - buildings crumble or at least get damaged like Black, craters in the ground, etc...

Most importantly I want a bigger Quake Wars-like multiplayer.

i'd like to see them make it so picking up covenant weaponry is optional, and not such a neccessity. I just like using good ole man made rifles. in halo 2 especially, it seems that the marine weapons are nerfed, compared to the covenant stuff. maybe its just me..

Like someone the other day said, remove all the traditional gameplay stuff they added in Halo Duece, like boss battles. I'd also like to see a vast list of more vehicles. Stuff like ATV's should be in H3 this time. Give this MC a sidekick this time also.It doesen't even have to e a spartan Give him a helljumper. I'm not a fan of the lone hero type stuf.1 of the things i loved so much is playing co-op in both halo's,and seeing a duplicate MC character for the 2nd player again in halo 2 was really dissapointing. bungie should do what Epic is doing with gears of war,and build the single-player with co-op in mind.

oh and,PLESE bungie, ADD MORE OUTDOOR ENVIORMENTS. The silent cartographer is probably my favorite level in any FPS ever. I hate the indoor/corridor shooter approach bungie took with Halo deuce

Halo 2 was pretty damn bright. I don't know what you're talking about.

I want in the multi:

Heavy weather elements: I want it to snow so much in some maps that you can't see a few feet ahead of you. I want the winds to be so strong in some maps that if you're driving recklessly you can flip over more easily because of the wind, or slide all over because of the rain or ice.

I also want maps that take place at night and by night I mean pitch black night. I want to see flashlights off in the distance.

More vehicles (including ones that fly)

More Guns

Big maps with grass like coagulation...

i want large, free to explore environments and less linear stages. i want grand, epic sized battles that offer a wealth of ways to tackle them. i want an even greater expanded chatter system, halo 3 should have battles that eclipse the actual feelings of war found in CoD2. i want smoke, debris, destruction, explosions and sparks. gun porn, black style (though a bit toned down). i want a needler that is effective, and a plasma pistol thats weakened. more gravemind and guilty spark/pentinent tangent.

I had fun playing the arbiter, but if people generally disliked it, I wouldn't mind having two separate "missions": one for Master Chief and one for the arbiter (maybe something you can unlock after finishing the "main" mission)

Good single-player campaign
Crazy sci-fi visuals (solidify the look. Kind of washed out now. I want it crisp w/ great lighting)
Intense sound effects and soundtrack
More war-like atmosphere (crazier objetives, bigger scope)
Smooth fps w/ no slowdowns due to graphics
Earth invasion

+Co-Op Online
+Spectator and Photo Mode

Also, It'd be pretty awesome to fly one of those Pelicans. Also include the level from the E3 video, make it a bonus or something cause that level looked mighty fine.

please
Just bring back what made H:CE an awesome experience (gameplay based on damage spikes + epic and athmospheric levels and soundtrack), DON'T DUMB DOWN THE GAMEPLAY.

In the MP side add a lot of customization (map editor + server browser, co-op, etc)

and please this time use hardcore players of the game for beta testing it

- More Arbiter, please! (Hell, you could make an entire spinoff game based on the Arbiter if you wanted to, and I'd buy it in a heartbeat. As far as personalities go, Arbiter > MC. :p )

- Improved boss fights. I felt the inclusion of bosses in Halo 2 was a big step up from the first game, but the actual battles themselves left something to be desired.

- Give the Chief the ability to command Marines, possibly via the headset. It doesn't have to be anything complex, but to be able to look at a soldier and say 'Hold this position' or 'Follow me' and have your commands be obeyed could make for some interesting gameplay. It would also add to the immersiveness of the game.

- Add an alternate control style for vehicles. One of the things I really dislike about the Halo games is how detached the control feels when you're driving a Warthog - you're in control of the camera, and the vehicle comes around to face where it's pointing. I want to feel like I'm in direct control of whatever I'm driving or flying. Some people love the vehicle control scheme the way it is, and that's fine, but I'd like to see an alternate option for those of us who don't.

- Bots for offline multiplayer. Pretty self-expanatory.

-Either make the matchmaking playlists A LOT more varied, or let us join custom games from people that aren't on our friends lists, seriously. Every fucking matchmaking playlist has 4 or 5 scenarios (half of which suck) that it cycles you through continuously and once in maybe 25 games you'll actually get something different.
-Bring back the crazy physics of Halo 1.
-Banish the plasma pistol from multiplayer, completely.
-Don't make it so the second half of the single player campaign is filled with levels that consist of the same pitch black, flood enemy filled room that gets recycled 80 times before the level is over. Both halos have had this problem.

Campaign

- More open spaces like Halo had.
- Some nice big battles going on, like when you saw Covenant against the Flood in Two Betrayals.
- Introduce engineers in some capacity, they could recharge plasma weapons for instance or, heaven forbid, could be used for a escort mission.
- Don't dump the Arbiter, people must have really liked the flashlight...
- No more archaic boss battles
- Online Co-op
- I don't mind them, but less Flood would be nice unless they are fighting your opponent as well.
- More grunts, there are never enough. I love to give them names like Bob and give dramatic crys when they perish, and they say great things, "Me be sidekick, like Robin!".
- Let me be able to change JUST Cortana's voice to french, I erm... liked it.

Multiplayer

- Remove the silly glitches, bugs, exploits etc that destroyed multiplayer.
- Remove the Plasma Pistol from multiplayer or nerf it.
- Custom Game matchmaking to shut some peeps up (unranked of course).
- Make Needlers mildy usable.
- More customization options for your avatar and symbol/logo.
- Retard removal software (Hopefully 360s feeback system makes me play against racist twats all the time).
- More interesting game options that isn't 3 plots. Slayer on its own is incredibly boring (and sadly most popular :( )
- Give me a Brutes Vs Spartans/Elites game for a laugh.

I didn't feel much was wrong with Halo 2 by and large. Just a few niggles in campaign that made the original great were missing, and multiplayer was ruined by 2 month trials.

i too liked the arbiter. if he makes a playable return in h3, i'd like them to differentiate him and the mc a bit more though. the cloaking was nice in h2, maybe expand upon that.

of course, online co-op is a must.

also, what would be rediculously awesome would be a photomode accessable at any point (ala pgr3). multiplayer replays (with the ability to save) would be phenominal too.

A better flow from one encounter to the next, in such a way that they build and are logical. This means skirmishes are logically placed, and battle have an eb and flow. Too many battles in Halo 2 just came in waves, the stopped.

No arbirtrary waves of enemies. An example of this is the boarding ships on the first level of the two games. In the first one, there were just a few enemies in each one, they all came out at once, and you could go into their ship. In the second, one boarding craft would have a good 3-5 waves of guys come out. You kill the first, wait for the next, kill them, etc. You can't go into the ship, even though it's open. Why? Because that's where all the waves of bad guys spawn at. Bad design there.

No arbitrary kill-zones. In Halo, if you saw a surface you could get there somehow. In Halo 2, there are insta-kill zones all over the place. For example, the first Enforcer you battle (bigger sentinals with ability to pick up and destry vehicles) is in a big room. You can't jump down to the floor of the room - it's only 20 feet or so, but the game kills you if you do it. Huh? Another is in the elevator, climbing up the Flood storage area. If you hop off the elevator and climb up the outcroppings on your own, you die when you get a certain distance away from the elevator. Talk about taking you out of the game and discouraging exploration.

Speaking of Halo...remember that second level? How it was non-linear? More please.

Truly interactive levels - more destruction, please.

The silent cartographer level post apocalypse !

I want the game to be much more dark and gorey. Blood, guts and deaths that actually mean something.

Co-op over live.

Full-scale invasion of Earth.
I don't think anyone has mentioned this, and I don't think any FPS does it in story mode (please correct me if I'm wrong) but 4 player co-op could be interesting. If I recall correctly, the prequel story to 2 had Master Chief teaming up with 3 other Spartans to take down some Covenent cruisers. I was hoping this would be an indication of 4 player co-op in 2, but oh well. If they made the maps big enough, and just scale the AI/enemy numbers you could have some insanely fun times. They could also make the vehicles much more elaborate with the higher numbers.

my wish list

-No f'n arbiter
-bring back halo 1 physics
-fall damage
-no lunging melees
-sprint feature
-destructible environments
-loud, mean, and powerful guns (smg and battle rifle sound pathetic and are weak guns. They don't give the same satisfaction as I got with the assault rifle)
-no boss battles
-large open environments with tons of explosions and characters everywhere
-LESS AUTO-AIM (go back to halo 1 auto-aim or less)
-better balance in multiplayer (whether it's creating an "equalizing" gun like the H1 pistol, or just letting the players customize the weapon sets) I hate the "weapon control" necessity in Halo 2.
-no elites speaking in english
-minimize the tracking on the plasma pistol
-better split screen (halo 2's split screen is lame and is harder to see than in halo 1)
-tone down the jumping height (no more "floatiness")
-server/custom game list for multiplayer on xbox live
-better story
-an ending

60 FPS framerate no matter what.
better online gameplay without all the drop-outs, disconnects (dont know about you guys)
larger scale battles - instead of what seems like squad vs squad, give me battalion vs battalion type fights with lots of Covanant air vs friendly air support.
i.e. 50 warthogs battling together vs 20 reiks.
full invasion of earth
no playing the godamn arbitor
no cheap gutting of the game
epic battles
a true ending

4 player Co-Op on a single system, with System Link and over Xbox Live.

Have the weapons have more "umph" not only in power, but in their sound. Also, increase the accuracy of the main battle rifle. Fuck realism.

Some truely huge epic battle's with thousands of NPC's battling on both sides right along side and against me, in the single player. Also, extend this to the online aspect, where we can have huge battles of online gamers on one side, teamed up with each other, taking on thousands of NPC aliens. Also the ability for us to switch sides and be the aliens and fight of the human NPC's... and of course the ability for both sides to be online players.

More earth levels. I'd love a lot more like the one level we got in part 2.

Online play to be open ended server's, with no forced Bungie involvement. I would like server's to be completely run by server admin's and be able to set up map rotation and game type's independently, and users to be able to view a list of server's and choose which one they want to enter. Basically, I want it to be like PC online games.

60 frames per second at all times.

True 1080i support with 4x FSAA and 8x AF and 24bit color output with 64bit internal color rendering.

The missing vehicles we were supposed to get in Halo 2 (ATV 4 wheeler, snow ski's, etc.).

DTS 7.1 surround sound.

A better more fleshed out story, with a proper ending. Also, please make better cutscene's... I mean, get some hollywood talent and do them up really awesome. Kind of like how the Japanese make such awesome cutscene's. Story is really important to me. And don't use the in-game engine... use the best of the best CGI with the best talent out there actually doing them and doing all the animation's.

The ability for the game to be modd'ed, with PC tools for the ability to mod it on the PC and upload it where it can then be listed on XBL and the modders to be able to charge up to $5 to download their mod. I would also like to see a ranking and rating system for XBL users be able to rate the good mod's, so other's can filter out the shit mods and buy the good one's.

An online ranking system with Icons, like they had in Myth: The Fallen Lords and Myth 2: Soulblighter. This is where they have Icon's (kinda like avatar's) that show your rank, next to your name. For instance, if you are a sergeant, private, colonel, major, etc. etc. have the actual rank insignia next to your name for all to see. Also, reserve only 10 icons for the rank of: "General". These special icon's are only for the 10 best players in the world; something like this...

1 - 5 star General (the actual best, #1 ranked player in the world)
1 - 4 star General (sencond best player in the world)
2 - 3 star General's
2 - 4 star General's
3 - 5 star General's

...this makes it fun for everyone to try to get the highest Rank... when you come into a server, everyone sees your rank and knows right there how good you are. Like if you're a Private everyone knows your a newbie, but if a true, real like General walk's in, everyone is like: holy fuck OMG OMG a General!!

That shit is awesome. And imagine being the only 5 star General, how freaked out everyone is when you pop up on their server. :D

I really just want them to take some time and work on their gun effects. Bullets feel like BBs, and plasma bursts remind me of waterguns. I want the guns to kick, and the bullets to really feel like chunks of metal are flying through the air at supersonic speeds. What they have now almost feels like a Fisher-Price version of guns. Add on to that some great bullet hit effects, trying to outdo those found in games like Max Payne 2 or Black, add in some nice bullet damage, some gore that justifies the M rating (entrance wounds?), and some good sound.

That is all.

A random map generator used for 32 man online co-op. The idea is to have 31 friends online and none of you no the map layout or what sort of enemies you'll face, so good tactics and teamworks is necessary.

Heavy bi-pod weapons that work like the heavy manchine guns in Day of Defeat. You go prone in order to deploy the bid-pod so they can be fired with some accuracy. Also you can deploy the bi-pod on certain surfaces like a blown out wall or window ledge.

Release special edition controllers for all the vehicles and allow them be connceted as secondary controllers, so that you can switch from the regular pad to the specialty controller no problem. I'm talking Capcom Steel Batallion level of quality and attention to detail. I want lots of toggle switches and glowing lights.

Make online bases more destructable like Zanzibar has. Take the Zanzibar base to the next level of destructablity. Have crital damage sabotage points, like an area that has a power plant that can cut the power to the base and makes respawn time longer for the enemy.

Customizable weapons. Make them more modular in design so you can tweak them a little. Say you can make a needler shoot out more of an arc. You can attach a flashlight to the battle rifle.

Ability to customize your models appearance a little. Like different color visors and such.

A buncha shit!

Map editor w/ the ability to trade maps and have a ranking of most d/l'ed maps.
Spectator mode.
A ranked class-based mode of play.
The ability to kick or knock away 'nades.
Smoke and flash 'nades.
Swords that have a limited number of uses, like the SP mode of Halo 2.
The ability to cancel/block melee by timing a melee attaqck of your own on the attacker.
The ability to save and edit replays of games, SP or MP.
Ranked Last Man Standing-mode of play.
Revamped spawn system.
More maps with opposing base-like structures with usable turrets and defenses.
More complex modes of competitive play.
Online co-op for 4+ players.
Scenario mode for co-op and SP.
A more Halo 1-like SP/co-op campaign. :)

- An option to change the sensitivity of each weapon individually.

- Sever setup for ranked games.

- Much more character customization.

- 720p and 60FPS

I just want them bring back the dynamic feel of the original Halo. The gameplay in the original felt more organic, less constricted than Halo 2. All sort of random shit would happen that would blow you away.

WIth the above in mind, I'de also want the emphasis on big battles. Have Master Chief needing to complete his ojbectives with one huge, dynamic battle going on.

Also, ban anyone under 16 from playing online.

This I can agree with. First was wide open with huge battles. Felt like you were really in a struggle on the beach. The second felt like a corridor shooter. I never felt like anything I was doing had any importance.
