Hoping for team doubles next week, no AAs please.
FFA Throwback has been replaced with Team Snipers, lol.
Episode 3 is fucking AMAZING!
Also MP maps are used in Spartan Ops.
As in the CG? The fact that MP maps are being used is kinda worrying.
Why?
Because I kinda want new environments? That's what I was expecting from SpOps. If they marketed it as "fight co-operatively on familair battlegrounds on requiem" or something like that I wouldn't be as disappointed.
Now, if there's some kind of unique gameplay on these maps, then thats cool too. Someone will have to let me know as I can't play yet.
I am a bit disappointed that we haven't seen many (any?) new environments yet, but as you said, it's all about the gameplay. I loved Firefight to death in ODST and Reach, and those were Campaign spaces repurposed, so I'm fine with MP spaces resused as well. I just hope they play/progress better than the last two missions.
(All that said - some new areas would be nice as well, in later episodes.)
15 chapters, 2 new environments (the cauldron and the refuge).I am a bit disappointed that we haven't seen many (any?) new environments yet, but as you said, it's all about the gameplay. If you enjoy Snipers please go and support the playlist. Play it and enjoy it and we may get it back for good!! I dont know if i can wait till it come backs around in the rotation.
I stopped playing Halo 3 until it was finally added in like a year later...
The story has definitely got far more interesting. Will play the levels later.
I think the Mt. Doom and the indoor Forerunner areas are original. If not, that shows how memorable the campaign spaces are.I am a bit disappointed that we haven't seen many (any?) new environments yet, but as you said, it's all about the gameplay. I haven't played any mission of week 3/episode 3 but those who have played it: Does story related stuff happen in the missions? Or at least some fiction stuff? If not, then 343i missed a big opportunity imo. Just imagine: You are playing on Ragnarok and over comm Lasky asks a scientist what those two base towers are doing, and the scientist explains his theory about them etc.
At least Episode 1 and Episode 2's missions are feeling pointless because of the missing story content. Especially in the background of the missing scoring feature.
But hell, the CGI is incredible! This week's cgi is damn fantastic.
At least the dmr makes sense. The AR should be more like a SMG at this point. Its absurd range is probably why the DMR has such a far range. Ever think about it that way?
It's probably going to be FFA throwback.
I wouldn't go so far as to say "removal" as much as it was most likely something that couldn't be added in time. One of the reasons I would love to have scoring and/or medals is so I can tell what the hell I'm doing in a clusterfuck of three other people shooting in the same direction. For Spartan Ops, I just don't understand the removal of medals/scoring. I would be enjoying it so much more with medals, even though that sounds a bit lame.
CG was amazing and the actual layout and context of the missions is great. As in the CG? The fact that MP maps are being used is kinda worrying.

Spartan Ops stuff
haven't actually beat it yet so no idea if what I posted ends up happening or not, but I did take it out just incase that is the basis of this weeks episode. Some people haven't played it yet, including myself. Would have liked to find that out in the game.
eh, decided that I'll hold on to my 14 day trial and use it up when SpOps S1 is over. Planetside 2 is out tomorrow and I doubt I'l be playing any other MP game for a few months. Works out well.
Now that spops has multiplayer maps we should see some classics. Maybe a huge-midseason battle on some Halo PC maps. Stealth missions on Gephyrophobia? Yes please.
saw in the comments that it ran 10-15 fps.
not sure how accurate
I said the same thing about halo for CoD.
It's a shame cause I love Halo but can't stand to play this mess after one match.

Yes, I rock a DMR/Storm loadout quite a bit. It's very nice to switch to the Storm rifle when getting the close range drop on someone.Anyone had any joy with the Storm Rifle? Tempted to but it and do a DMR/Storm loadout..
He's right though.
What? Weren't you defending the hell out of this game just last week?
He's right though

When 343i develop better games than Nintendo's studios, then maybe they can talk. Even in 2012 with a billion dollar budget, an exponentially more powerful gaming system and a crack team of collegues, they still couldn't go toe to toe with the sheer joy caused by Xenoblade.
Ninja playing team snipers, dis gunna b funz http://www.twitch.tv/Ninja

Haven, Abandon, and Adrift should have been in Team Snipers.

Josh =/= 343. He can have opinions and say shit outside of work that hold no bearing with his job.
