Wait, wait, judge's error! Pennybags got question four wrong. That point is still up for grabs! Magni was first! Atonement! That's right!

GAF user Neverender wins the first round by all of, ooh, five seconds. Sorry Natakuu and Magni, you were very, very close.

Leaderboard:

Neverender: 5
HaloGAF at large: a fat 0.

Round two is a trivia round! Halo universe trivia! First correct answer to each of the following five questions grabs a point. Escalating difficulty.

1. Who wrote The Fall of Reach?
2. Who knew what the ladies liked?
3. What was the Ascendant Justice?
4. What did Mendicant Bias want from the Reclaimer?
5. Give the technical name for the shoulder armour variant more lovingly known as ‘Oonsk’.

Round three is awful! It's really lame questions about popular music! Five points to grab, same as before! Go! Go!

1. From which state do American rock heroes Breaking Benjamin hail?
2. Beyoncé’s song ‘Halo’ appeared on which of her albums?
3. ‘Reach’ was a year 2000 hit for what British group?
4. The Beta Band appeared in the film adaptation of which Nick Hornby book?
5. Name the Coldplay song that Shake Appeal drunkenly ‘sang’ in at least one HaloGAF thread.

Not quite as hot as before, but Lunchbox got the first four right, and Bungieware picked up the slack with what was probably a guess, identifying 'Clocks' as the offending Coldplay song!

Scores after first three rounds:

Neverender: 5
Pennybags: 4
Lunchbox: 4
MagniHarvald: 1
Bungieware: 1

Close race!

Round four is the second of our three Fastest Finger challenges!

For a whopping 10 points, be the first person to post a working haiku containing the word ‘beta’. If you don’t know what a haiku is, consider that part of the challenge.

Anyone have any questions about the beta specifically?

I'll try and answer them if I can.

Is there sword clashing still?

Can you reload and evade at the same time? More specifically, can you reload, then evade and come out fully reloaded?

Cheers!

Well, the good news is I'll have lots more time to play the beta now. Bad news is, it's cause I lost my job yesterday.

P.S. This is not a F&F beg.
Yes it is.

That sucks dude.

If by some fluke I win a code from one of the contests I entered I will gladly send it your way.

Im not reading 30 pages, but WTF Bungie, look what Activision did to Infinity Ward.

Man I hope this doesnt effect DLC and stuff for Reach, 1600 MS point map packs incoming eh?

Relax. Took me about an hour and a half to shake the description you just posted.

Once you get used to it, it feels like Halo all over again. May not make sense now, but will by this afternoon. Jump around the playlists too. You'll start to "feel" it shortly.

Now when I go back to H3 it feels weird.
Torture.

Those of you who are in the beta what are you using for controls?

Microsoft is publishing REACH. Bungie is supporting REACH. Activision deal is for a future IP. Activision deal has nothing to do with REACH or Halo.

Sony: New Bungie IP 'Halo on steroids'

'Congrats to Bungie. Marrying their creative minds and incredible talent to the power of PS3 will be like giving PS3 fans Halo on steroids.'

I know you don't work there anymore, but is there something built into the contract to keep an IW situation from happening?

This is a working, albeit not very good, haiku! Pennybags, I'm sorry, but you only have four syllables in your closing line! Dismissed!

Neverender takes a startling lead! But don't worry, there are still plenty of points to play for!

Neverender: 15+1 (see edit!)
Pennybags: 4
Lunchbox: 4
MagniHarvald: 1
Bungieware: 1

Next round is HaloGAF trivia, and will commence as soon as I stop burning this pasta!

Edit: Neverender just pointed out that I also sang The Scientist. As I can't remember which I sang first (I was drunk), it is only fair to award him a point as well.

I was the only one to do a proper haiku, I protest! :p http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haiku

1 point?! I was the only one that got every question right ? Might as well only answer the first 3 questions then to get one on everyone else...?!
