Halo: Reach Beta Thread

I'm so depressed I didn't get a code. I've been a part of the Halo community for a long time, even helped solve the ilovebees stuff way back when but I don't always post a ton because I don't dig on some of the strange humor the Halo crowd here is into:lol Oh well. I'll see you all on Monday I guess. I've been listening to my Halo 2 soundtrack and reading the books to squelch my excitement for the beta.
 
Story time. This is the kind of stuff that's going to make Reach's gameplay really interesting.


I spot Big Ander down a hallway on Powerhouse, and he tosses a grenade my way. I've got the shotgun, but he's a long ways away.

Luckily, I've got Sprint. I engage as soon as the grenade hits the ground...

The AR chews you up pretty fast, so I'm hoping to close the distance quick.

When taking fire, there's a full screen fuzzing effect that's pretty subtle. It stays in the area in the saved film, like the aura from an explosion in Halo 3.

Anyways. Heading back on for a while, hope to get used to the gun play and controls. Stuff like this is going to result in some epic tales.


Here's the rendered film of that first game. Some experimentation, some screwing around, some serious play. All from the perspective of me fumbling with the controls. :lol

You know what Frankie, I think I love you, you always ease my fears.

Well this deal wont affect the DLC as far as price points, but im willing to bet Activision will push Bungie into working on the next IP sooner than they would want to, how long will Reach be supported after its released?

I don't get this one. Bungie owns Bungie. And its new IP. Activision owned IW and its IP. It's like chalk and cheese. The two situations are almost literally opposite.

You really don't need to snap, Frank. Knowing Activision's track record with treating anything they touch like dirt, it's a legitimate concern.

add LoopOfHenle if you guys havent already. i'll see you on later. i'll be the guy with the needle rifle 'sploding fools from across the map!

(in sad news, i brought my xbox to work in hopes i'd have a code and could use their speedy internet to download the beta faster... only to find that its configured in such a way that i cant connect. sad face. something about the MTU not set high enough. i'll have to dl it afterwork, so i'll be on, oh, mid-night-ish :P)
