Glad I got mine as a legit ExpertZone member (2 years) before you gatecrashers fucking broke the site. I would have been pissed if I was 30 mins later.
With something this big it's going to happen XD

guys where on the expertzone is the odst quiz? i'll still give it a shot to test my chances.

I got a code (don't ask how). So, I'll give it a go when I get home later tonight and post my opinion after giving it an open fair shot (was disappointed with h3) for a day or two.

Wow, that expertzone thing sounds a little shady. I want a code but I don't wanna do anything too extreme. I guess I'm just out of luck, sadly :( At least there should be plenty of streams and videos, feels like half the people in this thread are in:lol

Anyone playing Reach right now loosing connection a lot??? I have lost connection twice now...early when playing with a whole room of Gaffers and then just now playing with Yeti. :(

Main page. Should have a picture of odst that says learn more. But apparently the quiz thing is broken right now.

Reach does not feel like a Halo game.

Jumping in Halo has always been fun. Decent height, and a smooth gliding feeling on the way down from peak. In Reach, you have what feels like the shortest jump in the series, and instead of a smooth rise and fall it feels like I'm under a soft ceiling. Several times I honestly thought I was stuck under something: it feels like I hit something and then drop down fast, distance truncated. It's not fun.

That kind of little change carries through to the movement and gun play. None of the guns felt powerful or fun to shoot, and I had a hard time telling when I was landing shots. I still haven't put my finger on why, but shooting someone in the Halo games has always had this really strong feedback loop where I felt the shots landing. In Reach, that's not there. I shoot, the guy falls down, move on to the next one.

I wish I could crystallize it better, but it just doesn't feel like Halo. It looks like Halo, has the best menu and interface I've seen (though the CTF UI is really confusing), but if the exact gameplay and controls were mapped onto a different looking game, I would not think it was Halo. And I love Halo because of how it feels to play. This thing feels alien to me.

Maybe I'll get used to it and learn to love this other, new game that's called Halo but doesn't feel like it. I hope so. But I'm honestly just in a state of shock at how the game plays. This ain't Halo.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
:(

Help me Giant Bomb, you're my only hope. And watching Ghaleon's rendered video made the game look like a ton of fun, so hopefully I don't experience similar disconnect once I'm actually at the controls.

I'll put it to good use if you want to hand it over. :P

OK I havent caught up so sorry if this is covered. I am an expert zone member and I took the quiz. When i went to redeem, the link is broken. is this for everyone else? Also, is it F&F?

Sooo many people have codes! Now I really am sad. I thought maybe 1-2 people would get lucky, but it's really the majority of the people who regularly post in the Halo thread. May have to go dark as well. It's like a gunshot wound for every new person that says, "I'm in!!"

awwwww my buddy called me and had me go through the ExpertZone quiz like right before it 404ed. Gonna keep trying it, but apparently someone posted it to slickdeals so the ExpertZone got owned.

Halo 3 didn't feel like Halo either until you played it more and more. It didn't feel like "Halo" to me at all jumping from Halo 2 to 3.

Annnd this needs to hurry.

Sweet! Ghaleon not liking Halo Reach means it might actually be very good! i mean... he wasn't the biggest fan of Halo 2 :] Halo 2 >>>>> Halo 3 by FAR

It is F&F, but so many people have made bogus accounts that the page is broken from server overload.

I was hoping for something different, but not to far out of the realm of Halo. I didn't like Halo 3 at all, so Reach needed to be something different to pull me back. Sounds like it might be :)
