Halo: Reach Beta Thread

Need way better visual feedback. Crosshairs are too thin and that shimmery yellow stuff that covers a weak spartan is too faint.

I cannot wait for DMR starts. Going to be glorious.

Theater Bug:

I'm using BJ, so in my games, I use B to pick up weapons. Yet in saved films of my games, it says "Hold X to swap for" (this might also occur during the games themselves, but I've only noticed it in Theater).
 
I really want to play Invasion but wading into a group defending a flag carrier in CTF and exploding the AL, is a thing of beauty.

Is it me or do you have to be really close to pop their shields? I got someone earlier running around the corner and right in his face I AL and I heard a pop and his shields were down. Or am I going mental? :lol
 
I am liking everything but the graphics. It sucks that Bungie didn't fix the AA.

Apart from some of the low-res internal textures, I really did not notice. Too busy shooting stuff to notice. :lol

My friend saw two of his buddies' xboxes that were banned until 9999. :lol I feel so fucked.

But maybe since everyone has caught on they won't do anything.
 
Just want to say thanks to Tashi for providing the stream. Been watching on and off for the better part of the day. Seems like I'm getting a feel for the maps without actually playing. It makes the wait for Monday a bit easier.
 
On my way home from the longest day of work of my life. I'm so happy that my brother got a code for us. Tashi, kylej, juices, TJs, fuck it anyone wanna play in an hour or so?

and that is what i don't understand. why go through so much trouble to improve models and whatnot but completely neglect IQ? the motion blur, though, is flatout terrible and needs to either be reworked or give me the option to turn it OFF.

yeah gonna call bullshit on this. your friends buddies must have had modded xboxes or your friend is pulling your chain.

The whole UI has confused me, its impossible to know which films you have saved from your recent played list.

I actually like sword base though. Pulling off a Skullamanjaro is also AWESOME. :lol

Terms of service states they can only get rid of your account on that website and nothing else.
 
They can't ban for something like the expertzone thing, no different than when people sploit websites for xbox codes and what not. I got mine for example from my buddy who actually uses it. How can they between the thousands of people who have done this to get their code.

If they were already banning for ExpertZone, Major Nelson or someone would've put out a warning to try to get people to stop doing it ASAP. There wouldn't be any bannings without some kind of warning beforehand, I wouldn't think.

On top of that, they're not going to have any data on which randomly generated codes were handed out by ExpertZone and which weren't. They'll ban the accounts from ExpertZone, but they're not going to go around double checking each one for a connected XBL account.
 
Not like what I hear so far. It is a mix of "good" and "bad" about the same things. maybe this is a good sign as a game should always divide the minds. But so far I am a non-multi Halo player, I do not know where to put this stuff.
 
I'm annihilating people with the AR. Burst fire and new, more powerful grenades make for a glorious short-to-mid range weapon.

I actually dont mind the magnum either, but I drop it at first sight of a DMR or the Needle Rifle.

If something happens to my account, I'll report back here, but I highly doubt it.

I'm not really noticing this much at all as compared with H3, but I think it's mainly because of this;

Not sure though. I tried to go out of my way and of course it's there just not right in your face like H3.

Good games to all the peoples I was playing with! This beta is damn awesome. Also, the active roster thing is a pretty slick way to make it easy to get into a party.
