There is a favourites list where you keep a list of your favourite tuners/painters/pic takers and this was outside of your usual friends list.

You could also rate content and view all content from within the game.

There was also a handy search function. It got pretty detailed. All the content was tagged by yourself.

So I could search for an "action" shot with a keyword being "Shell" and I'd see pics of cars with Shell liveries while they were racing.

So if you were to adapt it to Reach you would have a search where you can search maps by gametype and filter that by maps and filter that by tags like how much players it's suitable for. Like "2 vs 2" map.

My brain can't really get around that community sharing stuff yet. And it's so closely tied to things like Reach's implementation of Forge (2.0?), which we know nothing about at this point, that I can't get excited about it yet when there's so much stuff that's more tangible and immediate.

Like firing a DMR for the first time.

It'd be cool if they unlocked customs for a bit after they are done with the matchmaking stuff. Maybe 3 weeks of Matchmaking and 1 week of customs for the sendoff.

All this talk about the Trip Mine disappearing has made me realize something:

Reach is missing an armour ability! SELF-DESTRUCT!

Activating it starts a 1-second countdown, after which you blow up with the destructive power of a rocket.

*Goes next to enemy* *Self-destructs*

It would be a great counter to getting stuck at close range, since though they would get the kill, you could even the score by blowing up bigger right after you die :lol



Good old Hoov. I had a match with him in Halo 2 before it stopped breathing.

Was hoping to put this out before any new Reach stuff hits, but I guess when it rains, it pours and we can't help but get wet.

Anyways, Forward Unto Dawn has two new updates.

The Centre Holds : An article that looks at the Insurrectionists, the human rebels that, in many forms, have been waging war against the UNSC for independence for centuries.

This article is written by Dave, one of our new staff members. I think it's a fantastic first piece.

I know your joking, but the Javelin glitch in CoD was essentially the Self Destruct perk your talking about, and it was horrible :lol

I also played him close to the end of Halo 2, A few TTL'ers, a Bungie dude and a bunch of the Hawty Mcbloggy lot got matches up against me. That just wasnt fair. Does anyone know who OWA 000 is by the way? He was also in that game and I KNOW ive seen that tag before.

What I really want to know if Infection will be in Reach. I'm a huge infection fan, over 5000 custom games played. Maybe 75% or more is Infection.

I don't see why it wouldn't be included. Bungie's all about building on their previous games.

It would be cool if they built in the ability to render out a video clip locally on your xbox and were able to export it to a USB memory stick.

I encourage all HaloGAF to read them especially Dave's. You can tell he put a lot of work into it and it's a very interesting read.

Bnet stuff looks fucking awesome, love that all of this stuff is in the Beta. I will probably actually get Bungie Pro (which I didn't for Halo 3).

As someone who never got Bungie Pro, I'm missing whatever the significance is of the Stosh post at the end of the update, am I missing something?

Without ever leaving the game’s menus, you’ll be able to not only tag and upload your own content to your File Share, but you’ll have full access to the entirety of content stored on Bungie.net. Search for content using pre-baked queries, or use tag searching to find exactly what you’re looking for, all live and on the fly. Rate a screenshot and you can check in over at Bungie.net and see the results almost instantly.

Can you stream videos without downloading them? Will there be YouTube-esque sorting features for all the content? Say I want to watch (or download) a video. I want to watch high level Arena play. Could I sort by the highest rated Onyx-level games on Powerhouse?

I don't care if the ability to stream video is in the beta but I want to reiterate my desire for a GothamTV system in the final game.

Yeah, that's my hope as well. Unless the new badass matchmaking will remember what you played as last and make the appropriate changes.

Although it almost would be better to play some of these new gametypes like Invasion on one side for a few matches to get a good idea of what it would take to make a formidable offense/defense for the map. I'm able to get better at something much faster if I can do it a few times in a row without having to switch it up with something else right away. Hmm...

Not switching sides in the Beta is a bit of a downer but at the same time I can see how it will considerably add to the length of matches and they really want to get as many games played and tested in this Beta as possible.

Invasion still really does sound awesome and it does look amazing, first thing I will be playing. :D
