would have been a perfect opportunity to give halo 1 live support
I would think the perfect opportunity to do that would be an enhanced release for 360...not that it would actually happen...

They've got their hands full keeping the cheating down in Halo 2 and working on their next title. The only opportunity it ever had to go live was when live launched in 2002. They've been too busy with other stuff ever since.

Don't know many current xbox owners who don't have them, haha, but that's really cool. Decent price, too.

I know what you mean. I don't even like FPS all that much, but even I have Halo 2. It's just that good.

in the recent chat allard said 75 percent of xbox owners either havent played halo or dont own it, which i find hard to believe

That's an incredible package for new XBOX owners or for those who just don't own any of the Halo titles. I started playing Halo 2 again a week and a half ago and I'm having a blast online even with the occasional stupid teammates. An 8 month break really does wonders.

The series sold like 10 million, how can any Xbox owner not have least played it?! 75% sounds way to high.

here is the quote
Allard (Expert):
Q: Why even offer the core package, its seems quite useless
A: great question! the thing to remember that while we designed a no compromises game system, a huge percentage of our customers are not like the folks in this chat room (read: hard core gamers). recognize that more than 75% of the folks on xbox have not played halo. by introducing the core system we are sending a signal to the market that we are committed to this part of the market just like with the xbox 360 premium bundle that we are committed to you.

Why would you come so late to the party?

For me, the fear of headaches and vomiting, I suffer from 3D motion sickness, with FPS being the worst. Last gen was terrible, it was either pixelated as hell with massive slowdown (PS1) or blurred beyond belief with massive slowdown (N64), Goldeneye was completely unplayable for me, couldn't last 10 minutes.

It scared me straight ever since, but then this gen happen and the allude of Halo 2 was too much, the massive hype, the constant talk, the kickass trailers, the awesome graphics, and mega high production values, so I said what the hell, maybe I could play it for at least 15 minutes at time.

Glad I did, Halo 2 rocked so much, I didn't suffer from 3D sickness like I did before, for some reason Halo 2 was....different. The Halo series must just be that good. It's on a different level!

The value comes down a notch when you realize that by the time this comes out, all of the maps will be for free on Live. Also, Halo is down to $20. What's Halo 2 down to? $30 yet? Sounds like a cool pack, but it looks like just an MSRP of the three.

Buy it for...

Halo: Combat Evolved's amazing single-player
Halo 2's Xbox Live play
The Multiplayer Map Pack's addition to Halo 2's maps. I couldn't imagine H2 on Live these days if it weren't for new maps being released.

Well, the Halo series hasn't sold 20 million like the console has, so penetrating 25% of the userbase makes a lot of sense, especially with Japan factored in.

Japan only accounts for like 5% though :lol

I agree with some of the posters above, a rerelease for X360 with 720P support would've been outstanding.

Well they could always put something like that on the HDD, right?

I feel bad for the mainstream consumer that never owned an Xbox, then buys that new Halo pack and the "core" 360 and suddenly discovers he can't play the games. Nice going MS. :lol

Remember when Allard (was it Allard?) was questioned regarding a Halo title at launch and he said that they'd definitely have something to play. Was it this that he was referring to?
