I've seen quite a bit of hate for the movie in this forum, but this thread is about the film's soundtrack, which I believe to be Zimmer's best work yet. Very emotional, yet very subtle. I just love it. I think it's amazing what Hans Zimmer achieved. It doesn't really use japanese motifs, yet it somehow feels like I'm transported to 19th century Japan when I listen to it.

Hans Zimmer is awesome, and you freaks better recognize!

I agree. Fantastic movie score. It's a shame the movie was ruined by such a horrible ending.
