Perfect beer for drinking in the Middle of Nowhere?

Mmmhops, of course!

The Hanson brothers are officially in the brewing business with Mmmhops Pale Ale, a joint venture with Mustang Brewing in their native Oklahoma that they debuted at The Hangover Part III afterparty earlier this week.

"You can now get a hangover with Hanson," the band quipped on the red carpet at the premiere of the film, in which Zack, Taylor and Isaac Hanson's biggest hit, "MMMbop," plays a role.

But, according to the brewery, the suds that Ed Helms and other members of the Wolfpack were sipping on was not the exact same product that will ultimately be sold to the masses.

"The product that was sent to the premier was a sample batch and for promotional purposes only," Mustang Brewing founder Tim Schoelen told BeerPulse.com. "The final recipe is yet to be determined. In fact, Hanson was in our brewery this week working with us on a pilot brew. They're great guys and serious craft beer fans. We look forward to working with them."

I heard about this a while ago. I wanna try it.

By the way, Hanson performed about a year ago at the venue I work at. I was shocked to discover that they put on an excellent show, and their new material is actually quite good.

for some reason i came in expecting the hanson brothers from slap shot. can't say i'm not disappointed. this is kind of cool though. i'm a fan of beer so kudos to them.

Shout it out is actually pretty damn good. That's the tour I saw. Maybe it was two years ago?

I guess I need to read things more closely. OP meant these guys:

I, in turn, did not think of THOSE guys. I could only think of THESE guys...

People crack on Hanson all the time, but they were surprisingly skilled. Would not say the same about Avril Lavigne.

I was never on the hate wagon for Hansen. They played poppy songs, yes, but they were pretty good at their respective instruments. That will always get some respect from me as opposed to other pop artists who are glorified kareoke singers.

Is that Tinted Windows?

*clicks*

Yep.

I have that album, it fucking kicks ass. Hanson guy + James Iha + Adam Schlessinger (who is a GOD) + Bun E. Carlos (Cheap Trick) on drums, FUCK YES. Powerpop heaven. Am not ashamed.

Hell yeah! This dude knows how to write a damn good pop song.

Hated them back in the day, but they are the effing Beatles compared to the likes of the Jonas Brothers and Justin Bieber. I shudder to think what will be popular with the kids 10 years from now.

Seriously though. Has anyone in this thread actually listened to their newer stuff?

I just checked out a few songs from Shout it Out. It's not bad, if you're into that style of pop/rock. They're talented, but not my thing at all. Wonder if it's easy to write tunes together or if they squabble a lot, being brothers and all.

That's the thing. I'm not really into that at all either, but it's definitely enjoyable and well written. I would never have paid to see them, but it was really quite fantastic and a lot of fun.
