That looks too good. Something must be wrong.
I read on Kiziko a while ago that they got a dude from the DQ series to come and kick some asses and take some names regarding this particular game's development. The HM series has been in a huge stink of stagnation since FoMT, so I'm all for any changes to the formula at this point.

It's still called "harvest moon," it'd be funny if it had nothing to do with farming. After my initial anger by what I saw, maybe this means the game will take a "life adventure" angle? That was my favorite thing about the original, so I wouldn't be opposed, necessarily.
Now if only it were "Sexxin' Life" as opposed to "Innocent."

Too bad Marvelous did not do any QA work on it before they shipped it. The DS version is buggy as hell. Hopefully they cleaned it up for the girl version to be released in December in Japan. Even Songs of Happiness had bug issues.
From what I read of the Famitsu scan, you do some farming but it's not as indepth as in true HM style games. It's more like Save The Homeland style where you plant a few crops here and there, but in IL the crops you plant can affect the island you are planting on.
MMV has a site about IL up but there isn't much there currently.

1) 3D front background with 3D character on it with a 2D bitmap back background.
2) Said screenshot being printed in a magazine.
3) Said magazine being scanned at a high resolution and resized down to a "normal" screenshot.

The saving grace of save the homeland is that it somehow tied in with the storyline of the N64 Harvest Moon game. It was set several years before and shared one character between the two (Basil, who for some reason was renamed Parsley in the US version, maybe because Natsume didn't realize it was set in the same universe?).
I don't see how this game could possibly have any storyline connection with the main BM series (SNES, N64, PS2), the alternate storyline (PS1, GBA, GC), or even the GB series storyline (GBC1-3) so bleah.
