Has anyone found Nvidia Reflex to actually cause more problems than it solves?

I've had some annoying microstutter issues in Horizon Forbidden West on my 4090 as of late and I also had those issues in Indiana Jones. No Framegen

I went online and looked at the forums and one suggestion was to disable reflex.

So I did that and all the stutters went away and now the game runs pretty damn smooth and I am having a great time.

Just curious if anyone else has noticed this or some other examples of disabling a feature that is expected to improve performance but actually do the opposite.

you expected it to improve performance?

Reflex is specially designed to do the opposite.. reflex prevents your GPU from being fully utilised, and it tries to keep the CPU and GPU in sync. that's how it reduces latency, it tries to prevent stalling.

I never found it create any stutters however. it does reduce performance, which again is by design, but that's about it. maybe those specific implementations were buggy?
although I did have it on in Indy and had no stutters.

I use it all the time and I have not had any issues so far. I mainly play using only a controller and I think that hides almost all issues that others report with mouse and keyboard.

Used it three times: Dogma 2, BM Wukong and Oblivion: Remastered. 0 issues on my side I'd say.
