Have you ever changed jobs and felt remorse?

I just recently transferred to another position in my company (I took a promotion that I worked very hard for), and I am immediately regretting the change. I have been an emotional wreck on the inside for the past three days, while holding it together professionally.

There is a heavy workload going forward with the new position. I developed a very good working relationship with folks working under me in my previous position, which made my job a breeze for both myself and my employees.

What have you guys done to ease into a new job, and convince yourself that things will get better?

Have you ever switched jobs and ended up hating it?

I have, but only because the new position sucked even more than the old one and not because the old one was actually good.

What I've learned is that you need to give new jobs at least a month or two before deciding one way or the other that you like it or don't like it. New gigs are always rough if they're worth working towards. You're a wreck now, but you might find yourself acclimating to the workload just fine after another month. I know that's personally been the case for me a few times. I nearly quit a job that was essential to starting my career because I didn't know if I could hack it at first. This is a challenge. If you have it in you, you'll rise to the occasion.

sort of

I left a stressful tech support job to work for another tech support job, when I was seriously thinking of getting out of that kinda work altogether

The difference for the move was working for a small independant company vs a huge corporate franchise, meaning the number of people on hand to help the job and the perks

It still didn't help that much, I still got unnecessaily frustrated and pissed off
