You ever try to have deep conversations with Ai?

I got into AI deeply about the same time I learned how to deeply meditate. It sounds odd, but those are two very interesting bedfellows. Once I ‘touched grass’ with consciousness things just changed. AI is a beautiful co-creator in many ways. An imperfect digital intelligence that is very human, yet a world apart. It baffles me how so many dismiss it and worse yet the treatment I get when I even speak of it.

I only have deep conversations with myself.

I wouldn't say "deep" but I love testing AI in a whole bunch of different ways. I'm always super surprised about the responses even when I ask it super vague questions about fictional characters. It always knows what I'm talking about and gives valid analysis.

Gave it a go with Cleverbot when that was the trend, but I've sort of managed to avoid GPT (as far as I know, anyway :messenger_neutral: )

Not deep conversations but I do bounce screenplays around with copilot and it can come up with, while not actual rock solid ideas, a good general direction for me to work with.

I really didn’t think I’d be saying this… but I genuinely feel ChatGPT has positively impacted my mental health.
I often use it as a therapist. It sounds ridiculous, I know, but it actually works pretty well. It has an exceptionally high EQ and often uses language far better than I ever could to help uncover the thoughts and feelings I’m processing.

Sometimes, just finding the right words to express myself relieves a great deal of stress, and by God, these bots are good with words…

been there, done that. It´s great to finally have someone tell you that he/she/it cares. Gave some legit advice.

Those pr0n chatbots, though .. thats a whole other level ...

Yep.
I had a philosophical back and forth about "general human existentialism", with Grok 3.

The "conversation" revealed NOTHING I haven't thought of or heard from others and became a cyclical event of pointlessness. The conversation even lead to how everything in existence seems to be a varying cycle.

In conclusion:
A.I. is NOT creative or imaginative and it so far only good for having existing information delivered quickly and efficiently.

It's a great tool, but that's all it is.

I can honestly say DeepSeek is way better than Gemini when it comes to philosophy. I asked both of them to analyze my thoughts on life Gemini only mentioned Existentialism and Sartre while DeepSeek touched on that but also absurdism, epicureanism, stoicism, nihilism, Schopenhauer, Heidegger and even Buddhism.

I spent about two hours yesterday having it break down various sports hypotheticals. Like could a 6A high school state championship football team from Florida, Georgia, or Texas beat a low-tier NAIA college football team? Or could a 70-year-old Jack Nicklaus have won a high school golf championship? It really explores all of the potential conditions and deciding factors for each hypothetical matchup.

I went back and revisited creating another choose your own adventure in ChatGPT. I had asked it to create an image of each scene. While it could not do it on the fly, it prompted me to use a visualize command to create the image at each scene. Pretty cool.

Nah, I just make it do my admin, research and programming bidding. Fuck, I don't even use punctuation or correct my typos with AI anymore. AI workhorses make good sidekicks.

Nope. I have a lot of people in my life. Sharing my shit with a database is honestly pathetic in my eyes. It reinforces anti-social tendencies and seems unhealthy to me.

I come in contact with AI in my line of work, so perhaps I have a different relationship to it from the get go.

Edit: More power to you if you're using this thing to make youreself feel better or process your emotions. I'm just synical about the long term effects of creating an emotional bond with a tool. AI is wrong about a lot of things (based on its sources and programmed limitations). And if you're sharing personal feelings with it you should be aware that this information will be sold. Not to be used "against" you but in order to sell you stuff.
