LANGHORNE, Pennsylvania (AP) -- When Michele Hutchison's baby is born, she envisions more than a pure bundle of bouncing joy. She also sees a potential billboard.

The suburban Philadelphia mom-to-be is inviting advertisers to put their names on her child's clothing and baby goods, saying the ads are sure to get noticed.

"Everyone looks at babies. We're going to be out and about all the time," said Michele Hutchison, 26, whose second child is due in June.

Hutchison, a stay-at-home mother, has placed notices on the Web sites Craigslist and eBay seeking bids of at least $1,000 for the rights for one month.

She got the idea after learning of a woman who offered to have advertisements tattooed on her body.

"I jokingly said to my husband that we should do this on my baby," Hutchison said. "The next day I couldn't get it out of my head."

Hutchison added that she would not accept any dubious or distasteful themes.

Todd Feldman, president of the Dan Ryan Group, an advertising firm, said Hutchison's idea offers a novel way for companies to stand out from the clutter
"It's the ultimate buzz marketing, wouldn't you say? There's people who have sold advertising on a bald head. So there's a lot of that going on these days," he said

Yeah I can turn this unwanted child into Cash Money.....

Pay her $1000 to put their logo on her baby's CLOTHING? Uh.....why would they do that? Considering that people pay big money to have brands on their clothing. No, instead of profiting by selling branded clothing, they'll pay people to wear it. Doesn't make sense.

That was my first thought, too. But this kid will probably end up with the Roto Rooter logo or something.

I'd like to see that company's logo with baby barf on it for this.

Guys, last semester in college I got the same idea in an advertising class. I listed myself on ebay. I would wear a T-shirt for the winner's company for 1 day a week. If the auction went for more money I would wear more shirts a week. Well I got a bid for $100. I got my money through paypal, but I never received an email or package from the seller so I just forgot about it.

About 2 weeks later I emailed the buyer asking him where the T-shirts were. He said he sent a bunch of emails but I never responded. I didn't think that was possible because i use a pretty decent mail service. His product was those pills you take when you get drunk and they are supposed to not give you a hang over. Anyway I emailed him back saying that his e-mails probably got sorted as junk considering what he was selling. He told me to keep the money and forget about it.
