Anyone have experience with Snapdragon X laptops? Need advice lol.

I lost my laptop during my move to SOCAL and I'm in the market for a new one. Best Buy has a sale on one that looks great: Dell, Snapdragon X Plus, 16GB of ram and 512GB of storage, can do some mild gaming (think Balatro, 2D emulation and older titles) and it's absolutely great for my needs. Impressions seem to be all over the place for an ARM machine and it's clear Prism is not Rosetta and Linux support definitely isn't there yet even if Ubuntu is doing the leg work that Qualcomm isn't.

I'm also thinking about going to a local PC shop here in San Diego: there's also refurbished Dell 7950 XPS with a 4K screen, 32gb of ram, 9th Gen Intel i7 and an Nvidia 1650, definitely will be sacrificing something but knowing Dell Linux support is piss easy and I can breathe some new life into it.

Definitely not getting a MacBook

Depending on your budget you could go for an older Asus Tuff series, Not sure what your needs are but at least you seem to have kept in mind that the ARM architecture means that not everything is compatible with it. Probably someone else can give you better info that my own two cents.

Maybe, I'm not trying to spend a lot right now considering how much I spent moving and losing my laptop wasn't on my radar lol. Right now I'm trying to just get by, maybe I'll get a real upgrade next year but these two are on my radar.

How's app and game compatibility on Windows ARM these days?

Is it another Surface RT scenario?

Better, Microsoft has prism and the advice I'm getting is that "it emulates software, not hardware" which confuses me even as a guy who works in tech. Does that mean my printer will need an ARM driver? I can't connect my vita via USB?

EDIT: Got my answer, that's the exact problem.
