Having trouble with gamecube audio

When there's an explosion or a sound with lots of bass, i often hear a pop/clicks or whatever you call them, anyway, its a sound artifact and its annoying as hell. On my HT i have my xbox and ps2 plugged with optic cables and i never hear the artifacts with them, so i thought that maybe my gamecube AV cables were damaged, i went and bought new cables and i still hear them -_-

What the hell could it be? It couldnt be a problem with DPLII and my receiver since i played throught MGS3 2 times now and never heard the artifact one time.

Its annoying because in RE4 there's lots of explosion sounds or in the boss fights where they crush stuffs, or the lake monster's roar, annoys the hell out of me :(

Hmm, experimented a bit, my gamecube's audio cables are plugged in the TV's ports under where i plug gc's component cables, then it goes from my TV's audio out to my receiver's audio in. Im 100% sure its my TV now, because in my TV's settings i changed the sound settings "audio out" from "fixed" to "variable" (meaning my TV's volume control the HT's volume aswell) and i no longer had any artifacts, i unplugged the audio cables from my TV and plugged them directly in my receiver and no artifacts either.. So thats uh weird, maybe i shouldnt have it at audio out fixed to begin with? I didnt like the way variable sounded since the TV's audio settings arent the same as my receiver.

Ahhh I think i might know.

My guess is you have the TV blasting when you output to receiver. Turn the volume down on your TV to about 75% max and use the receiver to fine-tune the volume the rest of the way. TV's are not the greatest of amps so you will get artifacts at high volumes.
