I agreed with this, until Black Ops 7 came out. It's such a sloppy, ugly, shitty, and overall horrible package that it makes me think Xbox as a game publisher is a serious issue too.

the key is not to being chained to a console brand, I'm critical of all them at any time, gears/halo/forza need to return at some point to what they were, and that starts by taking on SONY's games Horizon MMO and Japanese history lessons. Nintendo has been great so they're fine.

If you name Xbox to MS publishing arm once Zenimax and ABK and others (Obsidian, Ninja Theory) were bought, sure they have future.
If you name Xbox the actual brand of phisical consoles, with a distinct OS, development kits, SKU of games, digital store, of course it is in trouble.
