It was weird ass music with violins and electric guitar. The vocals were spoken word, a guy with a deep, slightly gruff voice. Similar to Primus. Anyone know what this might be?

I feel for you bro. There is a song I heard about ten years ago on the radio, I think it was by a local indie band back when we had rock stations that would air stuff that was different. I still remember some of the lyrics, but I get nothing when I google them. I have no clue, but I've felt the frustration of being completely unable to find a song that I was really into.

Surprisingly most radio station do have Playlist with corresponding time on their website. You can always look it up. Even by day.

If you could call it anything it was rock, but like I said it was electric guitars and violins. The melody was played fast, but it also had long rests.
