Hell is US (demo) not coming to consoles, PC specs revealed (Update: Demo now available on Steam)

Anyone playing this demo today? Really curious about this one. The Souls shit turns me off but if it's in the right package...maybe. The rest sounds really cool.

I am testing it

Two things I dont like so far, the character movement doesn't have any weight and his design is weird, that haircut is definitely a choice.

Performance is fine so far too. Lets see how it goes but it seems solid and polished

Man I am having a blast with the demo. The combat is very solid and the world is very interesting, it feels like Death Stranding but it his own flavor. Wow

So I added this to my wishlist about a month back because it said no maps and no compass bullshit just find your own way or something like that. That very much appeals to me.

Is this a souls-like or what? I'm good with it if it is, actually, great with it, but just curious. The screens looked like a lot of exploration with no combat, but now I read combat is fun. What kind of game is this?

The combat definitely borrows from Dark Souls but it has his own flavor as I mentioned. The drone can help you during combat, you can parry and dodge, and there is some interesting mechanics. The good news is that there is a difficulty slider so you dont have to die much if you prefer so

What I like the most is the world, its very interesting to explore, it has Returnal and Death Stranding vibes and the fact that there are no markers or indicators telling you what to do. You have to find everything yourself so this makes the exploration quite rewarding

My only complaint is the fact the character movement needs a bit more of weight but honestly after 2 hours playing, you get used to it and it works well because the environments are big so having such an "agile" character movement was the right move in the end.

Honestly seems like a spot on comparison if you watch the trailers, as far as art style at least.
I watched a fairly long preview video but I'm always reluctant until I read some actual player impressions. It did look awesome and yes, fully agreed.

I ignored this for a while due to the heinous name but it shot up to the top of my interest list.

This game since first showing has looked to be a vapor ware game. It's one of those no name studios that show impressive graphics then the game never comes out or turns out was a grifting scheme.

I played a few save points through.

Genuinely great potential from this one. The mystery investigation vibes and mechanics are immaculate.

I will likely see my way through to completing the demo.

The game finds the perfect balance between handholding and making navigation fun on its own.

Might be one of the sleeper hits of this year.

Agreed. Played about an hour and had a ton of fun. I'll definitely pick this demo clean. Can't wait for September.

Also, playing in 32:9 on a 3080 @ 5120x1440 with everything on high no dlss locked 60fps. For those interested in performance.

Been playing it for the past hour or so, the atmosphere, story and writing seem to be there. These are things that made me interested in it in the first place. Very strong showing for sure, huge potential. Also runs very well on my machine. Though if there's one thing that I don't like it's the combat. It's kinda janky so far, might change when you get deeper into the game and have different weapons/more skills and whatnot, but so far I'm not really sold on that aspect. I'm gonna continue to watch this game like a hawk.

I tested the demo, and it runs very well on my system at 4K resolution (4070 / Ryzen 5600 / 24GB RAM).
It seems interesting and original to me. 2025 is definitely shaping up to be the year of AA games.

I have played it two and half hours. Its a blast

Please play it, it has my papito seal of approval

I already 100% was certain to buy it considering I've met the creative director before, super passionate guy, and there's a lot of ex Eidos Deus Ex blood in this studio

I love the 90s design where you have to search for shit, and you're not being told where to go. Been missing this so much in games. It is too bad the combat system seems stiff as hell. Still trying the demo, though.

I'm right there with you. Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Mankind Divided are easily some of my favorite games of all time. The team behind them is incredibly talented and consistently delivers quality. You can already feel it in the demo and it's clear they've put real care and craft into this.

I can't wait for the full release this September.

In terms of what the demo offers…

Was there any cool/unique side dungeons that felt meaningfully rewarding?

Considering the rest of the spec levels look fine, let me ask 4090 owners this: would you rather devs just withhold uber settings when they're available to make you feel better about the purchase? Assuming everything under Ultra runs and scales like we'd expect. Would you rather get a smaller bump from High and better performance?

How's the performance? As bad as the recommended spec list or its fine?
Just download the demo and give it a try. Thats what i'm about to do.

I remember people shitting themselves over the 'Immortals of Aveum' requirements, and i could max the game at 1080p/60 on my 3700x/3070 combo.

Downloaded the demo. Gonna give it a whirl tomorrow to see if it melts my ROG Ally X. I hope the game delivers. Been on my radar since it was announced. Shit looks dope as hell 🔥

I wouldn't say side dungeon, but I already found and solved a small mystery in the initial forest area.

I also cannot say enough about the lore and vibes.. They are beyond immaculate.

I mean, that's gotta be a CPU bottleneck issue.
Actually by UE5 standards, the game isnt very cpu limited. The cores on my 3700x are hovering around the 25% usage.

Also the requirements are a bit hyperbolic as usual.
On my 3700x/3070 combo, the game defaulted to 'Very High' settings with 70% TSR (the default setting), and i can get 60fps at 1080p. At least in the opening area.
vram is hovering around 5-6gb at 1080p Very High.

Not bad to say its UE5, and the devs are admitting they havent done much optimizing yet.

EDIT. Also 4k/30 at very high is perfect too, for anyone that doesnt mind 30fps.

initial area runs seems to run okay on my ancient 3070 at high settings 1440p dlss balanced. locked 60 fps with gpu usage between 70% and 90% so there's some headroom for FPS drops

dunno if it uses dlss 4, at least looks similar to native 1440p

By the way i dont know why some of you are playing at 30fps when the games cpu requirements for 60fps are quite modest.

WOW i didnt even see the DLSS options right at the bottom of the settings. Quality DLSS actually looks better than TSR runs a tiny bit better too. Just tried it.

Thanks for your post or i would of never known. I just figured DLSS wasnt in it yet because its still in development lol

yeah by the way the game lets you toggle frame generation on rtx 3000 gpus
of course it doesn't work and actually bugs the dlss and it stops working altogether

i made it to the end of the demo and all the way the game always ran smooth with mostly stable frametimes and 60+ fps

I just played 18 min.

I'm assuming this is a very small dev. so, its impressive to see small devs can make their dreams come true. I mean, it is pretty clear that this has very strong Death Stranding influences. I also got some Fallout ones (specifically, 1 and 2).

Game has so much potential. The only devs I give a pass to regarding UE5 slop are small indies. Just because it can open up a lot of doors for them in terms of quality with a small team. Downloading now.
