Edit: For clarity

This only refers to the demo. The full game will still be released on consoles. Draugoth Draugoth forgot a word in the title.

We know many of you are eagerly awaiting the game, and we would have loved to offer the demo on consoles as well. Unfortunately, due to technical constraints, this isn't currently possible — it's simply much easier to release a demo on PC.
Please rest assured: Hell is Us will launch simultaneously on PC and consoles, with the same content and the same level of polish. Development is progressing equally across all platforms — this limitation only concerns the demo.

OP they meant the demo, not the game. I've been Draugoth'd.

If they can't get this game running optimally on the ps5 and series X then that's on them truthfully. Should be wayyyy easier getting things running on closed ecosystems and with playstation and xbox tech guys helping you and assisting you if needed.

I was upset for a second, this is one of the few games for the rest of the year I'm looking forward to on Ps5.

That said, looking at these specs I now expect it to run like shit on base Ps5 :S

One of my most wanted games. It's gonna be another special one, much better than the ones getting all the hype, probably.

It's a letdown there's no consoles demo, though.

These settings are kinda weird tbh.

Either this is coming in hot or they pulled an Alan Wake 2 and overspec'd the required spec sheet.
Calling it now, it's both.

And I guarantee it's not optimized for shit. Notice it says everything on that spec sheet is tested with frame generation. 30 fps....with frame generation.....on a 4090.

Edit: Just noticed it wasn't with frame generation, just upscaling.

I could be wrong.....I hope I am.

That's the part that doesn't make sense at all lol. Framegen requires a higher base fps than 30 to begin with.

These settings are borked and I'd watch like a Daniel Owen video to get the exact details before I buy this game.

I'm still really looking forward to it but maybe I won't get it on PC.

Hmmm.

For those, who do not want to go to that link:

Hey everyone,

Following the recent reveal of the PC specifications for Hell is Us, we've seen a lot of passionate discussion—especially around the mention of 30 FPS in 4K with a RTX 4090 GPU when using Ultra settings.

We'd like to take a moment to clarify what that actually means, and why there's more to the story than that single number.

Understanding Our Graphics Presets

The performance estimates we provided are based on very conservative benchmarks. Our Ultra settings aim to push visual fidelity as far as possible—and we do mean ultra.
Here's how our built-in upscaling is configured across each preset:

Low: 50%
Medium: 40%
High: 30%
Very High: 20%
Ultra: 10%

By default, the game uses Unreal Engine's Temporal Super Resolution (TSR) for upscaling, but we also support DLSS, XeSS, and FSR—all of which will be fully updated to their latest versions at launch in September.

So... 30 FPS on a 4090?

With Ultra settings, we prioritize visual fidelity over framerate. That said, the RTX 4090 will run Hell is Us at higher than 30 FPS in 4K Ultra—but it may not consistently reach 60 FPS. We're simply being realistic in our communication to avoid overpromising. Our goal is to set clear expectations, not to limit what your system can achieve.
Remember, you're always free to tune the settings to find the balance that's right for you. Ultra is just the upper ceiling.

Try It for Yourself

Don't let this hold you back from giving the demo a try during the upcoming Steam Next Fest. You'll be able to test the game directly and get a feel for how it performs on your own system. Every PC is different, and real-world performance can often surprise you.
Thanks again for your feedback and support—we love seeing the community so engaged, and we're excited for you to dive into the world of Hell is Us.

See you soon,
The Hell is Us Team

Outside of the ultra settings, the rest of the specs sheet looks reasonable 🤷‍♂️ My system (5800X3D/RTX 3090) pretty much matches 1440p/60/Very High which is about what I'd expect from this PC in 2025

Anyone playing this demo today? Really curious about this one. The Souls shit turns me off but if it's in the right package...maybe. The rest sounds really cool.
