All right, I am at my wits end here.

I have Typing of the Dead PC. I have been trying to get it to work for days now. No matter what I do, when I run it, the screen goes black as if it was changing resolution to start the game (Which I can sometimes see happening), then it immediately dumps me back to the desktop and redraws everything. I have tried every compatibility mode there is, NOTHING works.

I am using WindowsXP SP2, an ATI Radeon 8500, and disabled every background program. Any suggestions?

right click on the short cut and go to the properties
click on the COMPATIBILITY tab
Add a check to the "Run this program in compatability mode for:" checkbox
make sure Windows 95 or Windows 98 are selected and press the OK button
try now
if that doesn't work then also try enabling the "Run in 640 x 480 Screen Resolution" and "Disable Visual Themes" options

I don't remember having any problems with getting this game to work under XP service pack 2...but I recently traded this game for a copy of Fallout 2 (wich works perfectly under XPSP2 without doing any of the above) so I can't check, myself

I've already tried ALL the compatibility modes, nothing changes, any other suggestions?

Partition your drive, install win98 on that, go from there.
