So I have a short persuasive speech to do tomorrow, and I still haven't thought up of a topic to do it on. It's only supposed to be five minutes, so it's not like I can talk about anything worthwhile or controversial like abortion, death penalty, etc.

I was thinking of maybe doing it on hygiene or flossing or something stupid like that.

Anybody done one recently and had anything interesting to talk about?

Does it have to be serious or can it be a joke topic? I remember in my old speech class, we could do the dumbest of topics, and the teacher didn't mind, as long as it was delivered entertainingly.

how about... Equality amongst gender.

i did it for a communication and media studies course. i argured that males are undervalued within gender equality.

i gave examples such as an ad, where i reversed the roles of the genders. the example was a rio underwear ad, where a guy was stripped down to his underwear by two hot female security guards at an airport to see if he was wearing rio underwear. it was easy to reverse the roles and say that a chick was stripped down to her underwear by two male security guards. evidently this then becomes sexual discrimination and harassment as the female is humiliated by a scam the two male security guards were running.

Its really easy to persuade with an argument that you can not prove against. you dont have to believe it either, just argue it.

Seriously though.. do a videogames one.. that's what I did my senior year. My topic was on why you should play videogames.. I got a 98/100, so I was pleased..

And if you don't like that.. how about.. hmm.. why Communism is a good idea?
