I've discovered the semi-wonderful world of used games, and there's a few of them that I've been meaning to get for quite a while:

Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy
Beyond Good and Evil
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time

I have a PS2 and GC. Which version of each game should I get?

Beyond Good and Evil is a good game...I would've said to get that but I don't know how the GC version plays..I know the XB one is great

Get Prince of Persia...good GC port, and an awesome game :D

You can get Sphinx brand-new for practically nothing if you find it on sale. It got very positive reviews, but still tanked heavily. Gamecrazy has had them for $16.

For all three, I say Gamecube. PS2 versions of multiplatform games are usually the worst, and BG&E in particular really suffers.

Beware of compressed audio in the Gamecube version of Sands of Time. I'd get the other two on GC as well if you can find them.

Here's the price breakdowns:

ps2

sphinx $3
beyond $11
pop:SoT $9

GC

sphinx $8
beyond $16
pop:SoT $16

I'm a cheap bastard and wanted to make sure if I was paying extra for the GC version, that it would be worth it.

Well, check Amazon and see how much BG&E for Gamecube goes for there.

That's the BIG reason why you want that one. (The one for $12 is almost certainly someone trying to scam someone out of $12...)

Definitely get all 3 for the Cube. And yes, get all 3! They are all very good games.

Also, as someone mentioned above, get Metal Arms: Glitch in the System!! Amazing game!!

At those prices get all three. Between Cube and PS2 I'd say go Cube. And if you're buying for the Cube I believe BestBuy.com is still selling new copies of Metal Arms for $10.
