Help me name this old japanese (asian ?) movie

This is a movie I have seen some 20 years ago. From my recollection of it, I believe it to be a movie shot in the 70s or 80s, with the narrative being set in feudal Japan (or some other asian country). Here's what I remember of it.

The story was centered around two men (possibly mercenaries/ronins), a young woman and an old lady. The old lady was in an authoritative position (possibly having ninjas or other mercenaries at her disposal) and had supernatural elements to her. One of the things I vividly remember is the following: the old lady could use her tongue to artificially age other people. She would do so not by kissing, but by extending her tongue several dozen meters in length and forcing its entry in the mouth of an other person, after which they would rapidly age and die.

The young lady was in the care of the old one. She develops an affection for one of the two men, the younger one. There is a scene in which the young lady is bathing with the young man (in what I recall is a tiny wooden bath), and suddenly has to hide him as the old lady is coming in the room. So she forces him to go underwater and hold his breath, inches away from her pussy.

I also remember the ending, which goes like this:
it is revealed that the young lady is in fact a ghost, who cannot survive in sunlight. At the end of the movie, the young man goes to great length to keep the sunlight from entering the room in which he and the young lady are, but eventually lets go after much pleading from the young lady who didn't want to live as a ghost anymore. As soon as sunlight hits her, she vanishes.

I would not be surprised if this was an obscure movie and no one could help me, but I've been searching it for years and I hope Gaf can help.

That could very well be it. I guess it's a well-known movie ? Thanks a lot, in any case. I'll report back here if that's not the movie I'm searching for, but from IMDb's description, I'd be surprised if it weren't.

Alright. That was the movie I saw as a kid. I watched both the 1987 original and its 2011 remake.

Let me start by saying that the original film is terrible. It's a mish-mash of comedy and drama, with the film unable to find a balance between the two. The comedy part isn't funny and the drama uninteresting. The portrayal of the relationship between the man and the woman is super childish and melodramatic, and feels as if they had written it for children. The pacing is also jacked, which, coupled with the rest, makes the film very hard to watch. I do not recommend it to anyone.

The remake, however, is much more competently-made. There are more characters and the story is more thought-out and refined. There was even a sword fight scene between two men that was legitimately entertaining, with the choreography even surprising me. The film being more recent, it's also much prettier to look at, having been made with better technology. It also helped that the lead actress was one of the prettiest things on which I have laid eyes. Man. I need to learn Mandarin.

Anyways, the remake is not without fault, either. The story is still quite mushy, with a lot of melodrama. I guess that alone does not make it a bad film; as I said, the film is competent cinematographically, but it is not for me. I prefer more real and mature love stories, but if you don't mind mushy feelings, then maybe this film is for you.

Also, this is the girl:
