Help with Pro Scan DVD player

I recently bought the Sony DVP-NS575P Progressive Scan DVD player. I have it hooked up to a Hitachi 42V515 via component video cables. The DVD menu states that my display mode is on automatic progressive.

Strangely though, when I press the INFO button on my TV remote when playing a DVD on said player, it claims I am only receiving a 480i picture. In addition, the progressive scan light on the DVD player is not lit (as it is supposed to be according to the manual).

The image quality does look quite good, but I can't help but feel like something isn't right.

My TV properly displays both GC and Xbox in 480p, which I have verified with the INFO button.

I've contacted Sony, but they don't know what the hell's going on. I'll probably just return the player and pick up another brand, but I'd rather not go through the hassle.

Help?

Problem solved.

There is a physical switch at the back on the DVD that must be moved in order for the DVD player to recognize that it is displaying a progressive image.
