Here are some advices for those who haven't played MGS3 yet, on how to enjoy playing MGS Delta for the first time.

I also will play this way, even though I already played MGS3 hundreds of times.

This is at least for the first playthrough.

- turn the difficulty at least to the Hard

- try to be a ghost as much as possible, use tools and weapons, as well as interrogation only when you ABSOLUTELY need it

- don't, I repeat DON'T kill any character in a wheelchair!!! You will thank me later.

- just because you can change uniforms, and face paint, doesn't mean you should do it all the time; in fact, it becomes even more fun when your Camo Index is lower, and enemies are more likely to spot you

- during a certain boss fight don't use thermal goggles, and map to find your opponent, but rather try to rely on your own eyes, while at the same time being careful not to let him see you

- use tranquilizer gun, and CQC as your primary weapons

- even though Metal Gear series gives you a higher rank when you finish the games as fast as possible, at least during the first playthrough, just go at your own pace

I've played through MGS3 twice (original release and Subsistence before MGS4 came out) and can't remember anything. It's like I am going in fresh!.

As someone who's platinumed this game 3 times and achieved multiple foxhound ranks here's my advice.

If you're new to MGS series play on normal unless you want a really difficult challenge.

If you struggle with this type of game and just want to beat the story choose very easy. It'll give you a gun named the "EZ gun". Tranquilliser rounds, unlimited ammo and your camo index is always above 80% if you equip.

Don't worry about finding absolutely everything like thermal goggles etc. There are multiple points throughout the story where items are found.

If you kill bosses with tranquilliser rounds you get a special camo. When you fight a boss who's a sniper try sneak up on him and hold him up with your pistol. Shake him down 3 times for a really good camo. You can crawl up on him or walk with a grenade cooked (this hides your footsteps).

Kill him with tranquillisers to get his really cool weapon.

There are at least 2 optional areas in this otherwise linear game. When you reach a river section with 2 enemies patrolling above it take the left exit first for the optional area.

The second is in the area of the jungle just before you fight the sniper boss. You take the top right exit instead of the top for a really cool optional area.

The first 2 hours is like movie but after the cutscene Vs gameplay ratio really slows down until near the end. If you love the dialogue over the radio you can regularly call your contacts for extra dialogue.

speaking of this btw, i used to abuse the crap out of this and the box (running into soldiers with it and then cqc during their short stunlock animation)... does this still work in Delta?

you missed
- stay away to the console version

nope :messenger_grinning_sweat: that was actually possible? wtf
Run to the traps on the right, take the fake death pill, he walks up to check you're dead then turns around. Revive throw a flash at him and after about a second of him stunned walk over the trip rope to set off the trap. It'll hit him a few times and destroy him 😂 I do this on my European extreme runs.

that's insane

this game i sweaaaaar!

Thanks for this!

For the end you can hold him up and do a crazy combo involving the cigar spray, stun grenades and tranquillisers but you'd need a video guide to get that one down.

Do you know about the cold war skin for the bike chase?
BRING ME ALL THE INFO ! :messenger_grinning_sweat:

The soldiers won't shoot at you when facing them as the front features the Soviet flag. Only soldiers behind you will shoot as it's the American flag 😂

Makes that part of the game easy even on extreme.
that's amazing, i fucking love this game

don't bother playing it. its a terrible game, either play the classic splinter cell games instead or mgsv the only good game that kojima has ever made.

I was getting an Australian physical copy of Hades on Nintendo Switch (hard to get now) at my local EB Games, the agent having a hard time trying to get it and at the other line at least 5 people pre-ordered the PS5 version of Delta.

I guess normies don't care about performance.

But looking at some videos, there are a lot of stuff that I haven't had any idea was capable of happening on the game.

Eating vultures after them eating soldiers and so on, fuck I love this game.

I think the best advice for anyone not used to an MGS game is that it supports so many different ways to play it, first time follow your gaming instincts - and then play it a second time and try to do everything differently. It'll work, and you'll love it.
