Here is how to use a freeway onramp!

Ok, you get onto the onramp, and then you SPEED UP while you head toward the freeway itself. In order to merge safely, you should be going the speed of traffic. It is not cool when you get onto a 65 mph freeway going 45 on the onramp. It is dangerous. Fuck you bastards who do this.
 
Yeah, this is one of my biggest driving annoyances. It sucks when you're stuck behind someone who is just lollying up the onramp... I want to shoot at them so they'll speed up...
 
the other day i was on the freeway going about 80 in the right lane and a stupid fucker that is going on decides to go about 40, had to swerve in to the left lane w/o looking just so i didnt hit him
 
I hate that shit, too. We have some on-ramps of doom around our area, too, which give little, if any, space to merge. You have to try to hop over as soon as you hit the highway. The ultra-slow fuckers make these spots even worse.
 
My personal pet peeve is when you have one of those combined on/off-ramp for when the exits are really close together, and someone coming down the on-ramp never merges, but just continues right on to the off-ramp. "Hello, Fucker, that's what surface streets are for. Some of us are actually trying to merge here."

I don't see a problem with this.
 
One morning when I was on my way to school and I pulled onto the on-ramp behind some red tercel. The freeway traffic was kind of thick but it was in no way impossible to merge in with. This fucking tercel not only slowed down in the merging lane, SHE FUCKING STOPPED.

She came to a full fucking stop in the merging lane. Traffic was going a good 45-50 miles per hour and she's expecting to merge harmlessly from a full stop. What a fucking idiot.

I use one to do this all the time... the onramp for one highway is also the onramp for another highway... so I just bolt up that on-ramp to the other highway when I need to get to it...

From that description, that's ok. It's more the people that use a combine on/off-ramp to go from one surface street to another that are the problem.

But the people using the combined on/off-ramp aren't merging, their just taking up space in tight quarters going 60 mph.

Get the fuck out of the right lane doing 80. I hate people who drive in the right lane next to an entrance like nothing is going on. You know that cars are going to be merging at a slower speed than the highway traffic, get your ass out of the right lane. Therr should be 2 to 3+ other lanes, unless your exit is coming up there is no need for anyone to be in the right lane at an entrance.

it was, and there was only one other lane with a fucking massive 18 wheeler there
 
Our onramps have 2-lane stop lights about half way down them. It's suppose to stagger the incoming cars at a steady pace onto the freeway (only 1 lane can go when the light is green), but there's a lot of people who can't go from 0 to 55+ in that short of a distance. The same freeway has those shared off/on lane that people use to merge and exit from.

It's really sad when a large truck gets stuck at one of those lights and can't pick up enough speed before it has to merge. It slows down the right-lane of the freeway and the shared off/on lane.

because you are speeding to begin with.. and you are speeding in the rightmost lane.. which is supposed to be the slowest lane.. mainly because traffic is constantly merging in that lane.. i.e. its dangerous for you and those around you.

the thing about people getting in the merge lane and then not merging used to piss me off too, until one day I did it when I was headed somewhere and I just instinctly got on the exit since thats the way I go to work. I did it a few more times after that so I dont get pissed anymore when others do it.

One thing that still pisses me off though is when people get in a left-turn-only lane using it to merge into traffic because they cant manage do it the old fashioned way when making a left turn out of a parking lot across multiple lanes of traffic. some will even go so far as to coast along in the middle lane with their right turn signal on. whenever theres too much traffic to make a left turn quickly i just turn right then make a u-turn.
 
I'd like to add to this.

Listen, you fucking pieces of shit: you merge one car from the left with one car from the right. What makes you think you are so special that you can change that formula and speed up as the car from the opposite lane is trying to follow passively into that hole created by the other car just moving in?

There was a car parked in the right lane of a main street today (LOL the cop was WAITING there to roast the retard who did that) so everyone had to merge back into the left lane. So it's going 1...1....1....1....and then this red (what the fuck is it with red?) MINIVAN rushes ahead and causes an accident about five feet ahead of me. Luckily I turned off down a side street because that accident was not going anywhere.

If you don't know that dividing two lanes into one lane means one car from each lane, then you are a road moron.

I am invincible. I've never gotten into an accident or gotten a ticket with these methods. That's never happened to me period. This includes stints on the LIE and the backroads of Virginia.
 
Is the LIE really notorious for being that bad? Because if so, I'm glad I grew up driving on Long Island then. I've driven on the LIE dozens of times. Prepared for the worst.
 
We almost got killed on the I95 in a situation where a truck was merging at the correct speed. .. thing is, we wanted to get out of the way so that the truck could have room. Guy who's cruising in the passing lane decides that he'd do us a favor by pumping the accelerator and getting out of the way of these annoyance (ie. us potentially getting in his lane). The moment he is passing.. the truck merges right in front of us and comes to near a dead stop. I really don't understand to this day how we slowed down in time. We should have plowed right into the back of it. :P
 
Another issue I have involves offramps that become their own lane on the street. If you are on this type, you DO NOT FUCKING STOP. No one is coming at you from the left in your lane, I promise, because your lane only exists BEHIND YOU. People are coming at you from behind, however. Stupid morons.

just because nothing has happened to you doesnt mean you are a good driver, or that nothing will ever happen to you. you gotta realize that you make it unsafe for other people on the road.
