Has anyone experienced problems with the autosave at the end of day feature? I can only get my game to save with the Quicksave, which isn't so bad except when I forget to do it :/
My copy asks if you want to save at the end of the day and I always say YES - but it never saves... I hate having to redo days work over again. I guess it's a faulty game.

At the main menu, "Continue" will ALWAYS start your last quicksave data no matter if it's old or new... very very annoying and misleading.
To get to your "regular saves" you always have to pick Story Mode. Then it will ask you if you're sure you want to not load your quicksave data... which is again really annoying. Then, you finally get to load your regular save.
Holy Cow thanks Dsal. That IS a very dumb saving interface but now I know I can load an older file if I screw up. Which is actually a useful feature, too bad it's not mentioned in detail anywhere in the manual...
Yeah, it would've been just fine if they called it "Continue from Quick Save" or something instead of just plain "Continue." That would've probably fixed it :|. I wonder if it was a problem from the translation or something.
We're a few days later now, and I'm actually quite interested in this game. Now that the people who own the game have had the opportunity to play it for a while I'd like to ask them : well, is this game worth it?
Would you recommend it? If it helps : I love adventure games and yes, I played Another Code & I liked it a lot; I'm a sucker for games that use the dual screens / touch screen tech well; and I don't mind slow games. Since I've recently restarted FFXI loooooong and drawn-out games are a definitely no-no though.

I would say it's definitely a game of accquired tastes. I can go over the pros and cons:
+ definitely one of the more original games you'll find
+ mini games make good use of the DS touchscreen (fire, fishing, spearing, furniture making)
+ relatively lengthy, and is as fun as you make it. Proceed at your own pace sorta deal.
+ addicting with lots of items to collect, experimentating to make tools etc.
+ uses the second screen well in the real-time map. Extremely useful.
+ opening up new areas is pretty well thought out.
+ good replay value after you're done the first time.
-atrocious translation job that I feel detracts from the game a bit. speech bubbles with sentences chopped up into bits, argh.
- average 3D graphics. Don't go in expecting any eye candy that's all I'm saying.
- several mini games that didn't live up to the potential. (hunting, tree shaking)
- Potential spoiler for a later area in the game
mind numbing block pushing puzzles in one area later that go on for far too long
Overall, I think I would give the game around a 7 to a 7.5, pretty much in line with the major gaming sites. I realized that it reminds me of an inferior version of Harvest Moon (been playing FOMT, best HM ever!). It's definitely not for everybody, but I found it to be a pretty enjoyable game.
Thanks for taking the trouble to write all this down, you've been very helpful . I think I'll hunt around to see if I can find it on the cheap, and then give it a shot - it sounds cool enough.
