Hey lets have another UPS sucks thread

Silent Death

lemme get one or two licks
While out of town last week I sent myself a couple pair of shoes I had bought, as they wouldn't fit in my luggage. Next day aired it Thursday so it would get home in the afternoon Friday when I would be there to pick me up. Friday comes and goes and nothing. I think back and start to worry because I remember now that I didn't give the shipper my apartment number. I get up this morning and call UPS. They tell me it was delivered and signed for by me no less. I'm like no I never received it. They tell me to contact the location I shipped it from and have them contact them to have an investigation started. After being placed on hold for 20 minutes the shipper picks up and I give them the run down. The little bitch on the phone tells me afterward that, "We don't have to do anything the package was delivered and signed for." I call back to UPS and tell them this, they contact the shipper and an investigation is started.

Anyhow before people start blaming me, sure I forgot to add the apartment number, but if you are a UPS guy and you show up at an apartment building you don't walk up to the first head you see and ask, "Hey are you the owner of these 2 brand new pair of shoes?"

So now I have to call back to the Staple store I shipped them from again in 8 days and find out what their investigation came up with.

I'm still fighting UPS after they broke my fucking stereo, and delivered it a week late. UPS is fucking trash.

My UPS men are Malnourished! I order speakers/amps which weigh at 90-400lbs per package and the little mofos EXPECT ME to carry it into my house from their truck. Once 2 little asian guys were carrying a package to my door, and they freaking dropped it and destoryed 4 amps in the process, I bitched and I bitched, wrote their names, and truck license. I went to the warehouse the next day and bitched for hours, after yelling at the manager for about 30minutes and almost giving him a heart attack, he gave me a money order for 5000$ and was very sorry for the inconvience. While the 2 little mofo's got fired on the spot in front of me for not using the proper measures to ensure the saftey of the package.

I'll never deal with UPS ever again and I doubt they'd want me back at their offices disrupting meetings and scaring away clients lol.

a big FU to UPS and they're workers!

UPS sucks total ass. Every time they deliver to me they mark my packages as "Delivered to front door." After I've wasted time on the phone with them, worrying that my packages were stolen, they magically show up one or two days later. And when they deliver shit it's always like at 6pm at night. Last time they "delivered" to me I was in my front yard doing yard work all day long. I call up and they had the nerve to tell me the ups guy knocked on my door and no one answered. I was standing infront of the door all day long.

I've never had a problem with FedEx. They deliver my shit bright and early also, and on the day they say they're going to.

Hahahahhaha....no.

Edit: I've personally never had problems with any. But DHL is always late and not very good.

I personally think all the shipping companies suck. I always have them deliver stuff to my office. Thing is the office I work at is near a reisdential area in NYC so they don't consider it a business and always deliver all my packages in th evening when ever has gone home for the day. Fuckers.

as the guy who handles almost all shipping/recieving in my company, i'd rank fedex the lowest due to the amount of boxes that we always end up getting a day after everything else on the orders.

ups has always been consistent with multiple box orders always arriving at the same time.

dhl, well, we only get maybe 2-3 boxes a day from them, and they're always for the service department. so i can't form much of an opinion there

also, the ups guy will back up to the recieving door, whereas the fedex guy just parks in the middle of the parking lot. not so much of a problem in the summer, but when it gets cold soon, it's gonna suck having to walk back and forth to his truck

Huh. Friends of mine have complained on end about UPS, too. Yet I've probably had no fewer than 500-1000 packages delivered to me by them in my lifetime and I can't think of one single complaint except for occassionally lazy delivery men who leave the yellow slip without ringing the bell. Weird.

Was it new, or were you just shipping it from one location to another? If it's the latter, good luck. They'll basically tell you to go fuck yourself because they're "not technicians." I'm pretty much convinced that the only way to get the insurance payout is if they actually LOSE the damned thing.

Does anyone know how they investigate these matters? Are they going to send someone out to the building the UPS guy said he delivered to and ask around or are they just going to ask the UPS guy if he delivered this package and then let it go. Why the fuck wouldn't you ask for ID if you show up at an apartment building with no apartment number? The more the day goes on the more pissed I am about this shit. FUCKING DUMBASS UPS!!!!!!!

Agreed, especially as I'm an Amazon Prime member, and UPS stops by every single day.

I will say though, there's a marked difference between UPS Ground, and UPS Air. I didn't have any real problems with UPS Ground before Prime, but you can tell they treat their second and first-day air packages better.

I generally prefer FedEx, even though they lost my laptop in April.
I'd rather pick UPS over FedEx. Indeed, I can't even begin to describe the sheer incompetence of FedEx when it comes to international shipments, they just *love* to fuck things up.

I prefer FedEx by far, but in Miami, they came at all the wrong times. Then again, it was very easy to pickup the package once I got home. UPS, OTOH, had a reliable delivery time, when I would be home, and I knew the delivery guy. But fuck if they didn't mangle every fucking package they sent. I've said it a million times, but those assholes managed to put a big dent in the top of my aluminum Antex case. If you have an Antec case, you know that aluminum chassis is rock solid. I don't know how they managed to do it, but I can only imagine it involved a big fucking gorilla going apeshit on the packaging. UPS is the worst delivery service on the planet. But hey...they deliver when I'm home. :lol PEACE.

Once, I was late answering the door, so the DHL man thought I wasn't home. So he went back to his truck and left the package on a high shrub that comes up to my patio. I came and took it and he was like, "WTF WHERE DID IT GO" and panicked for like five minutes before I came out and said hello.

I love my DHL man.

Does UPS's tracking system work?

I ordered something on Tuesday that got shipped out late Tuesday night. It listed it as departing Baldwin Park, CA at 1am Wednesday and since then nothing has changed. I mean I understand it is UPS ground, but shouldn't something have been updated after 4 days?

My past experience with UPS has been pretty shitty too, so this is not doing much to change it. Too bad the company didn't offer FedEx or I wouldn't even have this problem.

It hasn't arrived at the next hub yet.

Heh, I was just wondering the same thing. Mine hasn't been as long, but I ordered something that was shipped on Thursday, and it hasn't given another update yet.

After 4 days? It shouldn't take that long unless the next hub is in Brazil or something.

As long as it hasn't reached the scheduled delivery date and isn't marked as "OUT FOR DELIVERY," then everything should be moving fine. (slow, but fine)

this thread is confusing. so basically, it's not safe to use anyone?
