Hideo Kojima Announces OD | The Game Awards 2023

Doubtful. I'm pretty sure everyone else passed on this after the Stadia version collapsed. MS is just desperate to get anything Kojima, as if that will pry his fans off of PS, so they're just bank rolling the rest of its development.

Either way, it's just one of his crazier ideas that even Sony wasn't interested in. That should tell you something. And after seeing this preview, I get why they passed on it.
Is it exhausting being this negative or does it become natural at some point?
We've seen nothing
P.T.'s tease was just as elusive/ Creepy yet this game being tied to MS for some reason is bringing out everyone's fanboy

It is not negativity or mistrust per se (it would be idiotic when, as you say, nothing is known yet), rather it is clear that it is more like some are externalizing their dissatisfaction and sadness at seeing a great Kojima project under Xbox and not under the PlayStation umbrella 🤗
The same vice versa. Someone without even knowing the type of project is already boasting about it. Although it is true that there are much fewer reactions of this type than the opposite.

PS. The game looks like it will be released on the leaked hybrid XBOXNext (physical hardware + cloud). If it is as ambitious and technologically innovative ("powered by the cloud") as they say.... between its announcement and its release there will be no less than 3 years.

PT had a playable demo. Kojima showed some bizarre acting reels, bragged about the celebrities he has working on this, and then went on to compare the game to a movie. so yeah there are some differences.

The game, going by the leaked footage, is most probably like the recent Slasher games by Supermassive Games (Until Dawn), where QTE with time limit determines the multiple outcomes, only here instead of QTE traditional different button presses, you press certain pressure/touch capacitive screens on your phones/tablets to progress further for you objective to hide or escape from the monster chasing you.

Think Until Dawn, but it's touch capacitive on your phone, with certain random pressure points on screen, and it's not natively playable on your Xbox or PC, only xCloud.

If it's cloud only, they better have a 4K streaming option by then. The current quality is shit.

So now we know what the logo is that I asked about...

With the recent events at Xbox are we safe to assume this will be coming to PlayStation also ?

Lol this isn't a mobile game…that recent Microsoft console/games price hike thread listed this game as $79 dollars right? Sounds to me like it's a full fledged triple a kojima game

Because it was announced as Xbox game
It was announced as a partnership with Xbox Game Studios, but the obfuscation in regards to the game's platforms combined with the leaked prototype footage, do suggest that it won't be a regular console and PC title. In fact, it's own conception as a cloud-only title makes it clear that it won't be a traditional horror game, for which the Xbox Series consoles and PC platform have enough power to bring to life any concept.
I thought it had cloud written all over it.
The cloud is the delivery method, but the game itself is centered around live-chat interactions, face recognition and touch controls -- all of which inherent to mobile devices.

More than a game, OD would be something akin to a Twitch for the consumption and creation of horror content. There'll be "viewers" watching someone play the game and altering his moment-to-moment gameplay in light ways beyond his control, and then the "content creator" that's actually playing the game.

A fusion of game and film, of play and watch.

No, it absolutely didn't. OD doesn't even have pages on any storefront for it to be added to wishlists. There's no official words on platforms, and certainly not about the business model. In fact, a bulk of it's development (and Physint's) is on hold until the SAG-AFTRA strike is fully resolved.
