Hideo Kojima is soooo far up his own ass... I hate death stranding's weirdness, it is just weird without sense or cohesion, like "see we can make very weird things! Does it make sense?! No!! But who cares!!"...
 
Remember those old Unsolved Mysteries/Sightings episodes where "paranormal experts" would set up infra-red cameras, sound equipment to "capture" any supernatural activity? Poltergeists' slamming doors, the atmosphere getting colder, "orbs" on camera, "voices/whispers". What if he means that? I mean in the end it could all be bullshit...but humor me.

Shit even if he brought his actress and left her alone in a LEGIT haunted building let's say where a murder took place and just let his cameras on overnight capturing "paranormal activity" and sounds, that would be even creepier than him CREATING it post production in sound design.
 
Used to like Kojima a Lot, buyed a PS3 only for MGS4.... really thought that he was a genius. But nowdays I found him cringe as f-.-.k. Really annoying.
 
Saying he wants to get an award for capturing a ghost is stupid, plain stupid.

Going around the world and recording "creepy" sounds from hypothetical haunted places, putting them in the game and then using it as marketing is smart.

Yeah I thought this was bullshit too. I had to search up other articles to determine that it is indeed a thing.

Dunno why people here always get so pissy about the stuff he his. His games end up not using most of the crazy ideas he says so stop worrying about it.
 
With all due respect to Kojima, does he literally believe Ghosts are real? Perhaps its a cultural thing in Japan I'm not aware of?

That said this is obviously stupid from Kojima. Believing in that it's OK in my book (as with any other thing like religion or superstition) but actually spending money trying to "scan" a ghost and imagining he can win an award by doing that just doesn't make sense.

We know Kojima likes that kind of stuff (PT, BTs are basically sci fi ghosts, etc) but this is beyond that. Even for marketing purposes this might turn off more people than pull them towards the game.

Also what's up with that line about visiting a shrine to make sure the game is safe?
 
It would be freaking hilarious if the existence of ghosts was proven because some eccentric game designer just went a bit off on one 🤣
 
Bro must have read the news of Microsoft's financials for Xbox and is either trying to extract as much capital from them as possible, or just trying to get the game cancelled.
