Hilarious propaganda

your move, America.

Those sexy blotted out women washing cars seem to go against everything they're preaching!

They're just giving out 'batin material.

I watched the whole video, and it's not propaganda. Calling it propaganda implies that they're being disingenuous or they're lying. No, it's merely making an argument in support of the treatment of women in Islam.

The real issue with the video is that it seeks to justify their treatment of women as a way to keep them safe. The uploader takes granted the idea that women are suppose to be subservient to men and never addresses the central argument as to why the West does not approve of their treatment of women.

For example, the video states that women do not wear veils 95% of the time, because the only time women wear veils is in the presence of men who are not familly members. In public, essentially. It never address the obvious takeback from that, which is that Muslim women are seemingly only allowed to be out in public around 5% of the time.

It's a poor video to be sure. Not going to dispute that. But just because everybody on this forum will pretty much unanimously disagree with the message doesn't mean that the video is propaganda.

Edit: If the rape rate in Muslim countries is lower, it's probably because Muslim women aren't allowed to leave the house, not because of the hijab.

Defenders how?

I guess I'll defend it from being classified as a piece of extremist propaganda, but I won't defend their argument.

What a pathetic attempt to convince people of their cause, it isn't like Islam needs it either since it's one of the fastest growing faiths in the world.

We need some rape stats from islamic countries, stat
I'd bet that rape happens just as frequently over there

On a sidenote, I kinda feel insulted as a man by islam
They act like all men are potential rapists that can't control their dick when they see a woman without a burka
Fucking religion.

As most videos of this kind go, it's less of an attempt to convince people to convert to their cause than it is a way to supply a "stronger" argument for people who already agree with the initial premise. Your terrible viewpoint seems better when you've got facts and figures behind it.

That wouldn't help. Like I was saying, Muslim women don't go out in public, and so there are fewer opportunities to rape. Muslim women would be less likely to report a rape to the authorities. Rape stats in favor of Islam would do nothing to support the argument that the hijab prevents rape.

Damn, didn't really want to see a video of a woman getting the shit punched out of her or one of woman beginning to be raped. My fragile mind is not as tough as most of gaf's.

A lot of horseshit in saying western women have it worse, but I admit those were some unflattering statistics.

Yeah but you don't actually believe in most of them the men would be found at fault or it'd be documented as rape, right?

Not that statistics would prove anything. The societies compared in the video are just not comparable. We're supposed to assume that the ratio of women reporting that they've been raped is the same? Get outta here...

It very much is propaganda. They've presented a distorted and skewed picture (some of it outright false) to further their extremist viewpoint.

This isn't new to me as a Saudi. This is the modus operandi of those bearded fucks; from the tall tales they used to bore everyone with of yesteryear to the spam mails and youtube videos of today, they spin these fantasies to reinforce not only their message but also to attack their enemies.

They've always saught to portray liberals and secularists as sexual deviants who are only interested in having their way with women. The whole protecting women shpeel is a big part of that propaganda.

BTW thanks for killing the buzz with your defence force shit.

They were talking about abortion, but were showing pictures of fully grown babies in buckets.

I'm curious if that's meant to imply that people in the West just kill babies.

Lol.

Its propaganda and poor at that.

And they are been disingenuous. They're comparing detailed statistics for American countries and following up with 'yeah but in Islam men and women aren't meant to mix so obviously rape/harrassment etc. isn't a problem praise allah'.

Hey, at least it's not nine hours long like the usual 9/11 conspiracy documentaries.

And their facts seem to be very well checked:

What are they talking about? Some kind of "kink/S&M" clubs I guess?

"You can tell which countries are Islamic by looking at the rate of AIDS"

Wow, I had no idea countries like Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania, Israel, Armenia, Bhutan, Japan, and Mongolia were Islamic countries until I looked at that AIDS map!
Lots of AIDS in Africa south of Libya/Egypt though... there must not be any Muslims in countries like Sudan, Chad, Nigeria...

Why has no one mentioned this before, the connection is SO OBVIOUS

People present distorted and skewed pictures all the time. It's how most people create arguments. They take evidence that supports their own viewpoint and then ignore or brush aside any evidence that contradicts their beliefs. This is how most people in the world operate.

And is it really extremist? The majority of people in Muslim countries seem to support the current way they do things. I'm sure there's quite a lot of Muslims that believe what we do is pretty extreme. Again, this doesn't mean I support their argument or viewpoint at all.

This is the modus operandi of those bearded fucks

The fuck does having beards have to do with anything?

That's not being disingenuous. Being disingenous would imply that they don't believe what they're spouting. No, they're just being stupid and they can't make good arguments.

Sushimi in some japanese restaurants is served on nekkid girls. But the practice is extremely rare.

I hope you still take her to the occasional roller-coaster ride. It's important that they have short moments of happiness during their sorrow filled lives.

That is propaganda. As you might realize now, more forms of media/communication can be considered propaganda than you would assume. You don't even have to lie in propaganda, although it often happens.

The fact that you're focusing so hard on the use of the word propaganda though only makes me think that you desperately want to defend something about the video, just to create some opposition to the -obvious- ridicule and condemnation that it gets.

When all else fails, sidetrack the discussion with semantics.

I like how the video contently leaves the dates out of their stats. Sure, they may be from say 2005, but they could of taken stats from the 50's for all we know.

For example, that suicide chart shown uses data that is over 25 years old, which was published in an article a decade ago.

http://www.iasp.info/pdf/papers/Bertolote.pdf

I searched 'suicide rate per religion' on google and found the article they pulled the graphic from on the first page, good research
