Hmm. It appears that plenty of your vital info is likely out in the wild.

Joke's on you OP, that means I still have 48 hours to find you before the Opt Out takes effect.

As for me? Possible relatives: Sherlock Holmes

This isn't vital info, it's basic public info.

Not to mention that it shows people who lived in apartments before/after(?) me as possible associates. I only know because I remember some of the names from the unforwarded mail that was sent to my mailbox.

There are a large number of sites like this one and they've been around for years. Seems like they pull info off facebook and other social media as my listed address, age, etc. are consistent with what I had on my facebook profile before deleting it 6-7 years ago. I wouldn't bother signing up with any of them to opt-out, it probably just helps them verify their data, which is sketchy and loose to begin with. If someone really wants your address, you can't really stop them from getting it.

They pull it from public records.

A lot of people are missing the point - yeah this is publicly available info and anyone who really wants to find you can probably find a way to do so, but it does help weed out the mouthbreathers who want to dox you by not making your info available within 1 minute of entering some shit on a page. It's about making it harder and less convenient, not impossible.

No one ever has accurate info on me in these systems. Very wrong address. They have my grandmother's name backwards and have her still alive in her old house.

Funnier, it has my grandfather who died in the 80s living there. And being born in the 50s. Highly inaccurate. Goes to show that public records aren't always accurate.

*searches name and state*

...

Uhhhh, shit.

I would not be surprised if my mom was partially responsible for my info being out there, she's the kind that strikes me as an Ancestry.com freak

Thanks for this OP

Interesting.

The "fake" me that I created long time ago is alive and well on this. Has the address that I said that I lived at and everything. It associates that "me" with other folks because of the address that I said I lived at.

I'd want to know how it pulls it's information. I used that identity for web stuff, when I didn't want vendors to send junk to me, or if forum folks decided that it would be funny to try to dox me back in the early 2000s. I never used it for legal stuff like taxes, or charities.

they had older addresses but it had my family listed in there.

funny enough under known associate's it had my sister's ex boyfriend which they've been broken up for like 5 years

I'd be more concerned if fake you had moving records and a Facebook profile you didn't make

I found it really easy to find personal information, addresses, contacts, phone numbers etc...when I started stalking dating again.

But honestly, I was kind of grossed out on how easy it was to find really personal stuff about someone. This site looks like a one-stop shop.
