So it appears Ana de Armas and Tom Cruise are dating

Hand it to Cruise. Guy is 63!

Ya, that bubbly face filler shit he got looks stupid, but he releases banger movies, gets hot chicks (he got and dumped Katie Holmes at the right time lol), and doesnt get involved in stupid politics. Even when SAG was bitching and moaning striking he didnt get involved. I remember when they protested someone asked him to join in and lead a picket, and Cruise ignored the request. lol

Sounds like he's a scientology weirdo, but seems he keeps that to himself or at least (I dont remember any) not going on religious rants pissing everyone off.

Never been a big follower of his career (only seen some of his key movies), but I respect his craft. I dont even care about Mission Impossible movies (saw the recent one and it was ok (best part was the crazy submarine segment), but I like the hardcore stunt shit he does to promote his movies. Guy's got balls to do that shit entertaining fans.

It's really sad he's letting Scientologists blackmail him all his life. No one would care if he came out today; people would actually cheer for him! You can be gay in private life and still play manly roles, like Neil Patrick Harris, Andrew Scott, Ian McKellen, Zachary Quinto etc.

Just look at Top Gun Maverick: the beach volleyball scene was made 10x hotter than any of his interactions with Jennifer Connelly

Cruise making out with Rebecca de Mornay. Legend. One of my fav milfy blondes back in the day.
Cruises list is unsurpassed. All in their prime as well. Mimi Rodgers, Melissa Gilbert. Nicole Kidman, Cher, Penelope Cruz, Sofia Vergara, Hayley Atwell, who knows how many slipped by under the radar. God (or Hubbard) knows how many starlets were handed to him through his church.

Cruise should just drop the act, we all know he's gay, I get that in this industry a "manly" image is most probably required for getting the "manly roles®" and doing action flicks but this has become a charade now.
Tom Cruise does "manly" stuff in his movies, but the vibes he gives are anything but.
I mean, if you didn't know better and had to choose a guy for a manly™️ mission, Tom is probably the last guy you'd pick in the MI crew after a quick first glance around the room. I can't think of one of his action movies where a more masculine actor wouldn't fit the role better in everyone's mind.

That said, kudos to him for the catch.

Ahhh, come now, that's unfair. Name ONE FILM Cruise is in that is BAD. Like straight up unwatchable. And even if its a bit dodgy, like The Mummy, he is still the best part in it. He fully commits, has more than enough range when given some leash, and delivers solid EVERY TIME. If there is any weakness in Cruise, it's that he is very unconvincing in almost every romantic scene, but that's true of lots of action actors thrown in with some young hot chick. Arnie, the Rock, Statham, Chan, Jet Lee, its all across the board.

What? I love Tom Cruise and I've watched no bad film starring him.
I'm just saying, if I asked anyone to describe a "manly man", I wouldn't get a picture of Tom Cruise.

He flies his own planes. He can fly a helicopter. At least at some level, he is doing his own stunts (I know this is somewhat contested). He has a string of hot girls on his arm. He is in shape. I'm struggling where he isn't "manly" if you just remove the weird sex aspect of his personal life. Is it his height? That definitely does impact his image.

Granted, he is no Tom Selleck or Henry Cavill in terms of dreamy looks but the guy seems to be able to handle his own shit. Go back to his 80's films and he WAS the dreamboat romantic lead doing all sorts of manly shit. Risky Business, Top Gun, Cocktail, Legend, Days of Thunder, Far and Away, it goes on and on. If anything, its his ability to morph around the role that kept him from falling into a Ryan Reynolds style repetitive acting loop that might have led him to cultivate a specific leading 'manly' man persona.

We really did miss out on a 2005ish Tom Cruise as Tony Stark, the fucker would have learned how to build his own damned suit just for the practical stunt work :P

First thought was "isn't she too old for him?"

Then I realized I was thinking about Leo since he's the one whose dating life I always hear about.

From everything I've heard, he's pretty much treated like royalty by Scientology. I don't think there's that much blackmail going on, and it's more along the lines of the church bending over backwards to make Tom Cruise happy.

Their current leader says he is their Jesus.
